🌞 Final Week Reminder 🌞

Please share this post to help us reach as many families as possible. Our school communication system appears to be experiencing some issues, and while some families have received the email, others may not have.

It's hard to believe we're almost at the end of another fantastic school year! πŸŽ‰

Please take a few moments to read our Final Week Reminders below. They include all the important information and key dates for the last week of term, along with our hot weather reminders.

Dear Parents and Carers,

It is with great regret that I am writing to inform you that we have made the difficult decision to postpone our Summer Fayre, which was due to take place this Friday 10th July.

Current weather forecasts indicate temperatures in excess of 33Β°C, and after careful consideration we believe it would be negligent of us to expect children, their families, volunteers and staff to spend a prolonged period of time outdoors during the hottest part of the day.

Please be assured that this decision has not been taken lightly. We know how much our pupils, families and staff have been looking forward to this event, and we fully appreciate the disappointment that many will feel. However, the health, safety and wellbeing of our school community must always come first. Given the expected extreme temperatures, we feel it is our responsibility to minimise the risk of heat-related illness and ensure that everyone remains safe.

Children should be collected at the normal time of 3.15pm on Friday, and the school day will finish as usual.

Although the Summer Fayre has been postponed, our Raffle will still go ahead as planned. Raffle tickets will remain on sale via ParentPay until Friday morning, with cash sales available after school on today, Thursday. The raffle will be drawn after school on Friday. In addition, our Friends of Nathaniel Newton PTA will be selling ice lollies straight after school on Friday, and we would be very grateful for your continued support.

We would also like to acknowledge that our Year 2 children will have moved on to their junior schools by the time the fayre is rescheduled. We know this may be disappointing for them, as this would have been their final school fayre with us. We would be absolutely delighted if Year 2 pupils and their families would like to return and join us after school for the rescheduled event, and we very much hope to see many familiar faces there.

We would like to thank you for your understanding and support. We are incredibly grateful to all those who have volunteered their time, donated items and helped with preparations for the fayre. Your efforts are very much appreciated and will not go to waste.

We are pleased to confirm that the Summer Fayre has been rescheduled to Friday 18th September. Further details will be shared closer to the date, and we very much hope that you will be able to join us then for what promises to be a wonderful community event.

Once again, please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience and disappointment this decision may cause. We are confident that postponing the event is the right course of action and one that reflects our commitment to looking after the wellbeing of everyone in our school community.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Lost Property

We have lots of children’s clothing in lost property (hats, scarves, gloves, coats, jackets and uniform).

Please check the photos and comment if anything belongs to your child, or pop into the office before the end of term. Unclaimed items will be cleared out.

Thank you 😊

If you have received an email from us about early school closure, this is a delayed delivery email relating to the June 24,25,26th dates of the week before last. This is due to an Arbor software glitch that we are investigating. School is open as normal this week. Thank you! ☺️

Following the RED alert for exceptional temperatures on Wednesday and Thursday, we have made the decision to allow parents and carers to collect their children early from school on these days.
Early collection will be available from 1:15pm on both Wednesday and Thursday this week.
If you intend to collect your child early, please let staff know when dropping them off in the morning. If you are unable to do so, please be assured that your child will remain in school and will take part in activities designed to keep them comfortable and safe in the heat.
Thank you for your continued understanding and support.
