Spending the post end of university term weeks (from 14th Dec to 3rd January) on the organ bench learning music that I don't already play . Such a delight to be able to spend all day on this instrument, even in the dark, cold church.

Congratulations to our Organist, Christopher Beaumont, who has been awarded the FTCL qualification following his recent Organ exam.

Three cheers for them both!

Interesting Pentecost service this year -

Recessional harks back to my 'final recital' as a music student- BWV 651 Komm, Heiliger Geist. Sweelinck chromatic fantasia was given an airing before the service. Afternoon spent working through works by Dupré and a brief look in the direction of Durufle.

Tomorrow I have the privilege of playing the organ for the funeral of the person who taught me piano between 1994 and 2003. Including in pre-service music the first organ piece that she first took me through (for a duet on piano on that occasion).
