⭐️Challenge 26 - Staff Relay Challenge ⭐️
As part of Challenge 26, our staff were challenged with an obstacle course relay. Our Griffins voted for which teachers they wanted to represent each house and Thursday @ 2.30PM was the big event!

The children loved cheering on their teachers after their fun-filled morning on the course themselves. As you can tell, some of our staff took the competition very seriously!

After a gruesome battle right till the end, the winners were... Unicus! A huge well done to this house! 💚

Also, a big thank you to all of our staff for being good sports and our Griffins for cheering everyone on! ✨

🇬🇧👑 Park Lane Jubilee Picnic 👑🇬🇧
We have had the most wonderful afternoon sharing a picnic with our Park Lane Family and were thrilled with the turn out at our event. It was great to see so many people join us in celebration and the weather was an absolute treat! ☀️

Please see a couple of photos from our event. We wish our families an amazing half term and Jubilee Bank Holiday Weekend. ✨
✨GAF Poster Competition ✨
As part of this years Griffin Arts Festival (GAF), the children were set the challenge of creating a poster to represent this years theme ‘Change Makers’. Children from across all schools within the Trust have taken part and the overall winner will have their poster used as the main publicity for the festival itself.

Our Arts Ambassadors had the pleasure of choosing the children from Park Lane, whose posters have been entered into the final selection.

Here are our winners through to the next stage… 👀
✨Quad Kids ✨
Yesterday, our Quad Kids Athletics Team took part in the first round of the competition. We would like to share our congratulations as Park Lane were crowned champions and have now been put through to the Northern Warwickshire competition.

Well done to you all!!
✨Queen's Jubilee Celebrations - Friday 27th May 22'✨
✨Queen's Jubilee Celebrations - Friday 27th May 22'✨
Just to confirm a few final arrangements for our Community as we edge closer to Friday, our Shared Family Picnic to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee:
1. The time slots for the afternoon are as follows:
- EYFS children can be collected from 11:30
- KS1 (Year 1/2) children can be collected from 12:00
- KS2 (Year 3/4/5/6) children can be collected from 12:30.
2. All children will need to be collected from their exit doors of which you would normally collect at the end of the day.
3. You will be asked to sign your children out therefore they will then become your responsibility for the afternoon. Once you had finished your picnic, you are welcome to take your children home or they can also come back to school as our wraparound care will still go ahead on this day.
4. If you have siblings in older year groups, they can be collected at the youngest sibling time stated above, but will still need to be collected from their usual collection point.
5. You are welcome to bring your own food for the picnic, as well as blankets and chairs for you to sit on with your families.
6. It is a blue bag option only for this day therefore there will be no hot school dinners available for the children.
7. The picnic will be weather permitting: if the weather changes suddenly, we may have to cancel and you will be informed via our usual platforms.

As always, we thank you for your continued support, understanding and kindness with all such events and look forward to greeting lots of you on this day.
✨Challenge 26 - Staff Challenge ✨

Which team do you/ your children think will win? 🔵🔴🟡🟢

✨Challenge 26 - Moveathon ✨
Last week, all of our Griffins took part in the Challenge 26 moveathon during their PE lesson, bringing in a variety of apparatus to get moving! We had bikes, scooters, hula hoops and footballs galore! It was great fun so once again thank you to our families for your support with our event.

A gentle reminder that any sponsorship raised will need to be in school by Friday 27th May. Thank you, in advance, for your support in raising money for an amazing charity: GetKidsGoing!

⭐️📱Online Safety 📱⭐️
More than 80% of people in the UK regularly make purchases online: it’s quick, it’s convenient and – much of the time – it’s safe. Not, however, quite as often as we would like to believe. In fact, financial losses to internet or e-commerce fraud have risen alarmingly in recent times – from an annual total of £139 million at the start of the 2010s to a staggering £376m per year by 2020.

As buying online becomes an increasingly preferred option (it now accounts for almost a third of the UK’s entire retail market), it’s important that the next generation is prepared to navigate away from the various scams and schemes that lie in wait for unwary online shoppers. Parents and carers can find some useful tips and conversation starters in our guide.

🚒Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service Visit 🚒
Our Early Years Griffins were thrilled to be visited by a fire engine this morning as part of their learning around the topic: 'me and my community.'

During their learning, they have been exploring local areas in the community and also people who help us. They were fortunate to have a visit from the local fire station who showed the children the fire engine, let them look at the equipment and some even had a go at using the hose to spray the water. The children thoroughly enjoyed looking inside the truck, trying on the helmets and even got to listen to the siren and watch the flashing lights.

The children showed exemplary Griffin behaviours throughout and were very inquisitive. The children were asked when the fire engine uses its flashing lights and they told us 'only when they go to an emergency!'

Thank you Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service and Nuneaton Fire Station for visiting us! 👩🏼‍🚒🔥

⭐️📱Online Safety 📱⭐️
One of the more heartwarming, life-affirming aspects of social media is being able to share special moments in our children’s lives with family and friends: from the first day at school or blowing out birthday cake candles to smiling holiday selfies and cute Halloween costumes. Is there, however, such a thing as too much sharing – and can it actually put children in danger?
With potential risks such as accidentally displaying identifying details (images showing where a child lives or what school they go to, for example) and photos being seen and saved by strangers, perhaps we need to take a little more caution over what we post and where we post it.

Our guide runs through some safety considerations when sharing images.

⭐️Seesaw - Student Guides ⭐️
Please find some informative Seesaw guides with step-by-step instructions for the student accounts on Seesaw. Your child should be bringing a QR code/ home learning code home to access the Seesaw platform at home.

These guides will be useful for your children to access if unfamiliar with the platform or in need of some handy tips, particularly for those in KS2 who may access this themselves. It will talk them through how to read messages sent by their teachers; how to interact with posts; and how to respond to activities set or post in their journal. We hope it is useful - thank you!
