ππ World Book Day Bake Off β The Results Are In! ππ
Today at Nuneaton Academy, we celebrated World Book Day in the sweetest way possible β with a Bake Off! π°π Pupils showcased their baking and decorating skills, creating stunning literary-themed cakes inspired by their favourite books.
A huge WELL DONE to all the pupils who took part β every bake was truly amazing! ππ But after some tough judging, here are the final results:

On 12th March, we are thrilled to welcome Emilie Lauren Jones, Coventry Poet Laureate 2021-23, to Nuneaton Academy! π
Emilie will be running engaging performance poetry workshops throughout the day, helping students bring their words to life. The day will conclude with an exciting Slam Poetry competition, where weβll select the team to represent Nuneaton Academy at the Coventry & Warwickshire Youth Poetry Slam Final at Coventry City Hall on 2nd April. πβ¨

SAVE THE DATE!
Join us on Thursday 6th March for World Book Day as we celebrate with the inaugural Great Nuneaton Academy Bake Off!
This is your chance to combine culinary creativity with literary inspiration. We invite both staff and students to enter by creating any type of food that symbolises a book element β whether that be the cover, a main character, or an iconic scene. Imagine crafting Severus Snape Sandwiches, Cat in the Hat Cupcakes or Boy in the Dress Burgers!
Please note, judging will be solely on appearance (indeed, you should never judge a book by its cover), so you can take your delightful creation home at the end of the day. Exciting prizes include House Points and the coveted STAR BAKER WOODEN SPOON.

On Friday 7th February 2025, our Year 8 Geographers had the privilege of hearing from an inspirational speaker from Twycross Zoo, an internationally recognised conservation charity and award-winning visitor attraction.
π A Journey Through Conservation
Megan, our speaker, shared the fascinating history of Twycross Zoo, founded in 1963 by Molly Badham MBE and Nathalie Evans, the UKβs first female zoo founders. She highlighted how Twycross Zoo is leading conservation and scientific research to make a global impact on endangered species. π±π¦§
π Making a Difference
In the last 10 years, Twycross Zoo has:

Contributed over Β£450,000 to global conservation efforts π°

Today, our pupils took part in engaging PSHE sessions, exploring essential life skills, personal development, and well-being. A huge thank you to Maddox Jones for delivering such inspiring sessions and sharing his own live music with our studentsβit was an unforgettable experience! π€πΆ
