Call for help before you jump in, you could be a second casualty. If you have someone who has taken on a lot of water, try 5 rescue breaths before chest compressions as this will help to get the water up.

Stay safe and keep a close eye on children near water during the hot weather.

🚨 Child CPR Guidance Has Changed – Are Your Skills Up to Date? ❤️

Did you know that the latest Resuscitation Council UK guidelines have introduced important updates to paediatric CPR and first aid? 👶 A new two-thumb encircling technique is now the preferred method for infant chest compressions.

As reported by Onlinefirstaid, when CPR is started by someone who has accurate training:

❤️ It doubles the chances of the heart starting to beat again before hospital
❤️ 30% survive for at least 30 days as apposed to 9% when CPR is given untrained

If your paediatric first aid certificate is due for renewal—or if it's been a while since you last trained—now is the perfect time to refresh your skills.
