Recently, our Rainforest and Lower Safari learners had an incredible day out at Twycross Zoo!
It was a wonderful opportunity for our pupils to:
- Explore and learn about a whole host of different animals and their natural habitats.
- Practice communication and social interaction skills in a bustling community setting.
- Build independence and resilience by travelling to and navigating a completely unfamiliar environment.
From start to finish, the day was filled with absolute awe, curiosity, and excitement, creating brilliant memories that will last a lifetime.
We are incredibly proud of all our learners, who were outstanding representatives for our school throughout the entire trip!
๐ A Huge Thank You! ๐
This unforgettable experience was fully funded by the Arbury Rotary Club. We would like to extend a very special thanks to them for their immense generosity and continued support in making this trip possible for our young people.

Cheetahs class have been developing their measuring skills by exploring mass and weight using grams.
Learners used weighing scales to measure a variety of objects from around the classroom, carefully observing how the scales worked and comparing the weights of different items. They also practised making sensible estimates when the arrow on the scales fell between two increments, helping to develop their understanding of measurement and number.
The class showed great focus and enthusiasm as they investigated, estimated and recorded their findings, building confidence in using practical maths skills in real-life situations.

Learning to understand, recognise, and process big emotions in a healthy way is a huge milestone for children. However, emotional self-regulation isn't one-size-fits-allโit depends heavily on a child's age and developmental stage.
For younger children or those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), managing these feelings can be particularly challenging. That is why our latest guide equips parents and carers with the confidence and practical skills to support children through moments of dysregulation. From becoming a 'dysregulation detective' to utilising sensory resources and co-regulating alongside a trusted adult, this guide offers 10 top tips to ensure children feel safe, secure, and understood.

We are delighted to have achieved another year of the Distinction Eco-Schools Award!
Our three fantastic ambassadors have worked hard to come up with ideas to support the school.
We have incorporated outdoor learning into our new Forest School area, planned lots of trips linked to the local community and environment, and used more sustainable resources by creating a junk modelling area, alongside many other initiatives.
Well done all!

During creative week, Zebras class had a day where we incorporated english and maths into independent life skills. We started the day by choosing a healthy meal to make and using conjunction to explain why.
We then found food products using Sainsburys online and managed to keep within budget for all of the items that they needed. We then headed to sainsburys and zebras found the items on their shopping list- and even managed to find some cheaper items!
When we got back to school, zebras prepared and cooked their own meal and ate this together in the dinner hall. They showed brilliant independence throughout the day and all said they had had a super day.
