The grand total raised by our Beeston Fields community is £1,786 🎉

What an wonderful achievement by all who took part. The children should be incredibly proud of themselves. Fundraising certificates and prizes will be following shortly.

Our children are aware that tomorrow will be Mrs Floyd's last day with us. After working at Beeston Fields for 32 years, we say goodbye to Mrs Floyd as she is heading into retirement. Some of our community may know Mrs Floyd as Miss Pemberton.

Throughout her time at our school, Mrs Floyd has supported and cared for generations of children and families, she is a truly valued part of our school community. Her kindness, patience and commitment will be greatly missed by both staff and pupils alike.

We would like to thank Mrs Floyd for everything she has given to the school over the past three decades and wish her a very happy and well-deserved retirement.

Excitingly, we are taking part in Walk to School week next week! Children are encouraged to ditch the car and walk, cycle or scoot to school. This is to promote health, sustainability and environmental awareness.

In class, their mode of transport will be recorded and the classes with the highest number of children arriving to school by walking, cycling or scooting will receive class credits and a certificate!

Last week our Nursery children explored our local environment. They completed a walk to the local shops discussing what jobs there are in the area, and bought food from the shop to make a snack.

The children also posted a letter to super Milly, and are eagerly awaiting a reply. There were some very excited children on their return to school.

As part of our charity partnership with local children’s charity LCH (Lifting Children’s Hopes), we will be taking part in their Annual LCH Colour Dash.

Our Colour Dash date is: Friday 22nd May 2026.

LCH provides us with everything we need for the colour dash free of charge - all the paint and kit we need to run the event, plus reward prizes for all children. All they ask is for your support with gaining sponsorship for your child, this is a great opportunity to talk to them about fundraising and the great work charities and in particular local charities do.

Sponsorship forms will also be coming home next week. Please support your child in gaining sponsorship from friends and family.

A big welcome back to all of our children!

Our Reception children started the Summer term with a visit to Tiny Town. The visit enabled the children to use their imagination and try out several different jobs. This visit linked into their new enquiry ‘Can anyone be a hero?’.

We are very proud of the children for their excellent behaviour on the trip, they represented the school beautifully.

We would like to extend a warm welcome to all of the families that applied to our school for their child to start Reception in September 2026.

We understand that the beginning of this journey feels like a huge step, we are here to answer any questions you may have.

We will be in touch via email early next week with more information regarding upcoming events, transition, and all of the key information.
