Last week at Ignite STEM Holiday Clubs, our students became secret agents for our 007 / Mission Impossible challenge! 🎬🕶️

They built safe houses, spy gadgets and high-tech cars 🚗⚙️, navigated tricky mazes 🧩 and designed their own b***y traps and alarm systems to protect their valuables 🚨🔐

Plenty of creativity, engineering and problem-solving went into completing each top-secret mission! 💡🤖

Mission accomplished! ✅🔥

☀️🤖 What an amazing start to our STEM Summer Holiday Camps! 🚀

Our first camps have been packed with creativity, coding, and hands-on fun! From building LEGO robots 🤖 and creating retro arcade video games 🎮 to tackling exciting STEM challenges, every day has been filled with imagination and learning.

It’s been fantastic to see so many young engineers building confidence, solving problems, and bringing their ideas to life. 💡✨

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us last week- we can’t wait to welcome even more budding inventors throughout the rest of the summer! 🌞

🎮🕹️ Create it. Code it. Play it! 🤖⚡️

This summer at Ignite STEM Holiday Camps, children will use Micro:bit 2.0 to create their own retro arcade games before downloading them onto handheld gaming controllers to play! 🚀

They’ll design characters, build levels, add scores and lives, and discover how real coding brings games to life. 💻✨

🎮⚡️ Creating retro arcade games with Micro:bit 2.0 at Ignite Clubs! 🤖💻

Our students write and test their own code on computers before downloading it onto Micro:bit controllers where they can play the games they’ve created 🚀

Along the way, they learn key computing and design skills including:

🕹️ Creating characters, backgrounds, and storylines
💯 Programming scores, lives, and levels
🧠 Using logic, sequencing, variables, and problem-solving
⚙️ Testing, debugging, and improving their games

A brilliant hands-on way to develop creativity, computational thinking, and real coding skills in line with the computing curriculum ✨
