They promote the foundations of Fine Motor Skills and Hand-Eye Coordination, build vital muscle strength for future writing, and encourage spatial awareness. Other great benefits of these open-ended materials provide a calming sensory experience and act as powerful tools for emotional regulation and creative expression. We try and make sure we have access to them daily. Look at these lovely concoctions being made in the mud kitchen today πŸ’« β€οΈβœ‹πŸΎ

I’ve been waiting to use these music shapes to play early phonics games. Listening skills are vital for early reading. These games help children to differentiate sounds, improve memory, boost vocabulary, and enhance attention spans, enabling them to map spoken sounds to written letters. They are a fantastic way to help build the foundations of literacy skills.
