🌿 Fantastic Start to the Term at Alternative Acres! 🌿

We’ve had an excellent start to the new term, with outstanding attendance and students clearly eager and ready to return.

In the first two weeks, our students have:
🐴 Begun their Stage 2 ABRS
📚 Shown that English and Maths don’t have to be desk-based to be effective
🐎 Practised correct riding positions using the mechanical horse
⚖️ Learned how to measure a horse’s weight to ensure the correct dosage of wormer
🌱 Explored the importance of worming, animal welfare, and stable management

We continue to place a strong focus on self-regulation and emotional wellbeing.

Having safe, supportive spaces allows our young people to express themselves, regulate their emotions, and re-focus on their studies.

✨ This year is shaping up to be a very exciting one, with so much more to come, we can’t wait to share it with you!

Huge congrats to Urban Bushcraft — Ofsted Registered! 🎉

We’re so thrilled to celebrate Urban Bushcraft becoming an Ofsted registered provision to kick off 2026 🤩 a milestone that truly matters and opens up amazing opportunities for families and young people to access regulated holiday clubs, childcare funding and support with bushcraft learning. 🙌✨

Urban Bushcraft has worked incredibly hard to reach this point, staying true to what they do best, authentic bushcraft skills and outdoor learning, with high standards and heart.

What’s really special is how two independent local businesses can sit side-by-side supporting young people and families across Nottinghamshire, each with our own approach, but with the same shared goal of helping children grow, thrive and connect with the outdoors. 🌱

We are so proud of what Urban Bushcraft have achieved and absolutely delighted to see them reach this milestone. We’re cheering you on for everything that comes next! 🔥
