People see the end result now… but they didn’t see the beginning. ❤️

I started off working for someone else on minimum wage. Then in 2015 I took a risk and opened my first little salon. Little did I know that tiny salon would be the start of something that would completely change my life and my children’s lives for the better.

I could only fit one beauty bed in there. I couldn’t afford brand new furniture, so I made do with second-hand bits. I even covered my nail table in wrapping paper to make it look nice! 🤍

People told me it wouldn’t work.
People said I wouldn’t afford the rent.
But little me… a mum of 5 at the time… chose not to listen.
I was in debt, and got into more debt to buy a salon off someone.
I was told i would get all the clients but that didnt happen!
So i had to start from nothing.

Deep down I knew I had to try.
And I always thought, if it all fails, I’ll just go back to my minimum wage job.

That’s the thing about entrepreneurs… we take risks. It starts with a dream, but dreams mean nothing without action. Sometimes you have to stop overthinking the “what ifs” and just try, because if you never try, you’ll never know what could have happened.

I have no regrets.

Today I own multiple businesses/ properties and my dream three-storey salon.

But before I bought it 3 years ago, I sat there thinking about every salon and shop I had rented around (15 of them) before that.

Some were amazing, some were difficult… but every single one taught me something.

There were so many times I nearly gave up.
So many hard days.
So many moments where I questioned myself.
How would i pay wages/ rent/ bills,
But every single day I kept showing up.
I kept pushing.
I kept believing.

Not just for me, but for my children… and for that 23-year-old girl who believed in herself when nobody else did,
If I could go back and speak to that younger version of me now, I’d simply say:
“I’m proud of you. Keep going. One day it will all make sense.” ✨

So if you’re scared to start something…
Do it scared.
Take the risk.
Believe in yourself.
Your whole life can change from one decision!
