Christ the King CVA

Christ the King CVA Christ the King is a living faith community inspired by the spirit of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Academy’s ethos and mission are rooted in the traditions of the Catholic faith where we strongly believe that every child should be nurtured and cared for according to the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ. In addition, the Christ the King community works in close partnership with four parishes to ensure that the links between the Catholic Church and our Academy remain strong. On October 1st

2012, Christ the King Catholic School and Sixth Form converted to Christ the King Catholic Voluntary Academy, part of a Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) namely, Pax Christi. The MAT comprises Christ the King and its four Primary partners, Holy Cross, St Margaret Clitherow, Sacred Heart and The Good Shepherd. The conversion to a MAT allows all five institutions to work in close partnership with each other thus reaping the rewards of cross-phase, collaborative working practices.

To encounter Christ is to have a personal experience of God's love and presence. It can happen in any place or time, and it can take many different forms. We often encounter Christ when we feel loved and cared for and we too can help others to encounter when we share his love with others. An encounter with Christ can be a life-changing experience that can give us strength, hope, and peace.

Your mission is to make time this week to look at where you might encounter Jesus in those around you.

We are delighted to share with you the excellent examination results achieved by our students this summer.

This year...
🟡 67.5% achieved Grade 4 or above in English and Maths
🟡 42.2% achieved Grade 5 or above in English and Maths
🟡 75.5% achieved Grade 4 or above in RE
🟡 64.2% achieved Grade 5 of above in RE
🟡 20% of all GCSE entires were awarded Grades 7 - 9
🟡 72.1% achieved five or more GCSE's at Grade 4 or above
🟡 24 students achieved five or more Grades 7 - 9

Our headteacher Jo love says:

"I am incredibly proud of our Year 11 students and everything they have achieved. Results day is an important opportunity to celebrate not simply the grades our students receive, but the hard work, perseverance and determination that have brought them to this point.

For some students, today will bring exceptional academic results; for others, their greatest achievement will be the progress they have made or the challenges they have overcome. Every set of results represents an individual young person and their journey, and we are proud to celebrate them."

As our students take their next steps into Sixth Form, further education, training and employment, the whole CTK community wishes them every success for the future.

Results should be collected in person from school Gym during the times above.

If a student is unable to collect their results and would like someone else to do so on their behalf, they must send an email from their school email account to [email protected](opens in new tab) before results day. The email should include the full name of the person authorised to collect their results.

The authorised person must bring photographic identification with them when collecting the results. Unfortunately, we are unable to release results to anyone who has not been authorised in advance or who cannot provide photo ID.

We look forward to welcoming our students back on results day and celebrating their achievements with them.

The whole Christ the King community congratulates the Class of 2026 and looks forward to seeing what they go on to achieve. Jo Love, Headteacher at Christ the King Catholic Voluntary Academy, said:

“Results day is always about much more than the grades on a piece of paper. It is about the young people behind them and everything they have done to reach this point. I am incredibly proud of the determination and resilience our students have shown and grateful to the staff and families who have encouraged and supported them along the way.

“At Christ the King, we want every young person to recognise their gifts, achieve all that they are capable of and leave us ready to make a positive difference in the world. Today we celebrate our students’ achievements, but most importantly we celebrate the exciting next steps that these results make possible for them. We wish each of them every happiness and success for the future.”
