🪂Parachute Fun🪂
At BOOSC, the children love playing with the parachute. While it is undoubtedly a lot of fun, parachute play also offers many valuable developmental benefits.
👩🏼🤝👩🏽Engaging in parachute games encourages children to communicate effectively and collaborate with their peers, fostering relationship building and a sense of belonging.
❤️These activities also support the development of both gross and fine motor skills, as children use their arms, hands, and fingers to grip, lift, and shake the parachute.
🌈Additionally, parachute play stimulates the senses through movement, colour, and tactile experiences, enhancing coordination and spatial awareness.

🎨🫧 Bubble Wrap Painting🫧🎨
The children had so much fun getting creative with bubble wrap and paint yesterday!
Using this unique texture, they explored colours, patterns, and used their imagination while making beautiful masterpieces.
Painting doesn’t always have to include paintbrushes—it’s about experimenting with different materials, having fun, and making something special!

🌟 Fill a Jar with Kindness! 🌟
Last Monday, during half-term, it was Random Acts of Kindness Day, so this week at BOOSC, we are focusing on being kind!💕
Today, we spread kindness in a fun and meaningful way—by filling a jar with acts of kindness!
Here’s how it works:
1️⃣ Grab a jar and some small slips of paper.
2️⃣ Write down an acts of kindness
3️⃣ Each day, pull one out and put it into action!
Ideas include:
💖 Compliment someone
💖 Send a kind message to a friend
💖 Hold the door for someone
💖 Smile at someone
Let’s make the world a little brighter, one act of kindness at a time! 🌍✨

❤️ Our Valentine’s Day Tuff Tray! ❤️
We’ve created a bright, playful, and love-filled tuff tray for children to explore this Valentine’s Day!
💘 What’s in our tray? 💘
- Textures to Explore: Coloured rice, bright pink wool, sparkly red tinsel, and pipe cleaner hearts to encourage sensory play.
- Objects to Discover: Mini treasures and Valentine’s-themed items for sorting, counting, and storytelling.
- Creative Play: Opportunities for mark-making, role-play, and imaginative scenes using hidden objects.
💡 Why is this important? 💡
This activity helps children develop essential skills like fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, sensory exploration, problem-solving, and creativity— all while celebrating the season of love.
💭 Did you know? 💭
Valentine’s Day isn’t just about romance—it’s a time to celebrate all kinds of love, including friendships and kindness. Sharing and playing together helps children understand these values in a fun and meaningful way.

3. Melt some milk chocolate in a saucepan over boiling water or in the microwave.
4. Once the chocolate cools slightly, add it to a bowl full of cornflakes.

🧸Welcome to Our Cosy Corner!🧸
Our cosy corner is a special space where children can snuggle up with comfy pillows, read a book, or cuddle our giant teddy when they need comfort.
Whether they’re feeling overwhelmed, upset, overstimulated, or just in need of a little rest, this space provides a safe and secure environment for them to breathe, reset, and regulate their emotions.
Emotional regulation is a skill that develops over time. In fact, research suggests that our brains are continually developing until our mid-to-late 20s! By providing children with a space to recognise and manage their feelings, we’re supporting their emotional growth in a nurturing way.
💛 A cosy corner is more than just a quiet space—it’s a place to feel safe, supported, and understood. 💛
