🟢New delay policy has been issued.
新しいポリシーを作らせていただきます。

⚠️No refund when it’s ”Over 15 minutes”delay without no prior notice.
⚠️前もった連絡なしでの15分を超える遅刻場合，全額返金不可となります。

⚠️Over 20 minutes” delay with no show, lesson is going to be automatically cancelled except prior notice or unavoidable delay.
⚠️20分を超えた遅刻または無断欠席の場合，前もった連絡またはやむを得ない状況による遅刻を除いて，自動的にレッスンをキャンセルさせていただきます。

Let’s eat Japanese way in Japan!

1. Sushi 🍣 寿司
Tourist: Chopsticks 箸
Japanese: Hand(chopsticks) 手(箸)

When you eat sushi, this is the best timing ever to try to eat by chopsticks and it’s a correct way to eat although Japanese knows another way to eat which is by hand! Depending on the person but HAND eating is a traditional way of eating sushi! 🍣✋

お寿司を食べる時は箸を使うベストタイミングかもしれません，しかも箸で食べるのは正しい食べ方です。それでも，日本人は他の方法があるのも知っています。それが，手です。人にもよりますが，手は昔から伝わる一つのお寿司の食べ方です。

2.Pasta🍝パスタ

Tourist: Fork (& Spoon)フォーク(とスプーン)
Japanese: Chopsticks (Fork) 箸(フォーク)

Obviously Original way of eating is using fork and Japanese use fork a lot for the pasta.
However there is Japanese pasta restaurants in Japan. At there some Japanese eat pasta by chopsticks. Not only using fork.

確かに，フォークで食べるのが元々の食べ方で日本人もよくフォークでパスタを食べます。
でも，日本には和風パスタレストランがあります。そこでは，日本人はパスタをフォークだけじゃなくて，箸で食べることがあります。

3.Japanese curry 🍛 カレーライス
Tourist: Chopsticks(fork) 箸(フォーク)
Japanese: Spoon スプーン

This is the a common misunderstanding for Japanese tourists. “This is Japanese curry so they must be using chopsticks for this”…
In Japan it’s rare to use chopsticks for Japanese curry. Most of people use spoon for curry. Only I’ve seen someone using chopsticks for curry is for diet because it’s hard to eat isn’t it? This is not only for you，for Japanese as well haha.
Also Some people think rice = fork but Japanese tend to use more Spoon than fork for rice. They might use fork for rice when they have steak and using knife and fork though.

これは観光客の中である勘違いですが，「これは日本のカレーだがら日本人は箸を使っている人違いない」…
日本ではカレーに箸を使うのは本当に稀です。大体の人はスプーンを使います。私が唯一箸を使ってカレーを食べているのをみたことがあるのが，ダイエットのため。なぜなら，食べるの難しいですよね？これ，あなただけじゃなくて，日本人にとっても一緒です笑笑
さらに，ある人はご飯＝フォークで食べるものって思っている人もいるみたいですが，日本人はフォークよりもスプーンって考える傾向にあります。もしかしたら，ステーキとかをナイフとフォークで食べるときには，フォークを使って，ご飯を食べるかもしれません。

Mochi/餅🥢

Hi! How are you doing? Looking forward to continuing study with you this year! 🙇As a Japanese culture people eat Mochi(rice cake) in the beginning of year. Mochi is a popular Japanese food/sweet and maybe are you also a mochi fan? This time I would like to share two little knowledges of mochi.

Mochi is made by rice but not normal sticky rice. There is a kind of rice for mochi which Japanese call it Mochi rice. It’s more sticky than Sushi rice！

Which shape is your image of mochi? Rectangle or rounded? Which one is authentic shape?
The answer is ….Both of them are authentic shape❗️
Depends on which part of Japan, the shape of mochi could change. Approximately rectangle shaped mochi is common in east Japan,on the other hand Rounded mochi is common in west Japan. 🗾(There is exception)
In Aichi prefecture where I raised up is located between Tokyo and Osaka has both shapes of mochi. When I was in the school depends on the family, the mochi shape was different. Actually I could see in my family as well. My mum family had used rounded one however my dad family had used rectangle one. My dad’s parents were from Nagano prefecture which is located north east from Aichi prefecture. Interesting to see some background isn’t it?

こんにちは！みなさんは元気でお過ごしでしょうか？今年一年もよろしくお願いします🙇日本の文化の一つとしてお餅を年の初めに食べる習慣があります。餅は日本食又はお菓子として人気がありますね。もしかして，あなたも餅愛好家の1人でしょうか？今回はお餅について２つの豆知識について紹介します。

餅は米で作られますが，普通のお米ではありません。日本語でもち米と呼ばれる種類で，餅のためのお米があります。お寿司などに使われるお米よりも粘り気が強いお米です。

あなたの餅のイメージはどんな形ですか？　四角ですか？それとも丸ですか？どちらが本物なんでしょうか？
答えは，どちらも伝統的な日本のお餅の形です❗️
日本のどの場所かによってお餅の形が変わります。角餅がだいたい東日本で一般的な形，逆に丸餅は西日本で一般的な形だそうです。🗾(例外有)
私が生まれ育った場所，東京と大阪の間の愛知県では、両方の形が見られます。私が学校に行っていた頃，家族によってお餅の形が違っていました。実は，私の家族の中でも違いがありました。母親の家庭では丸餅が，しかし父親の家庭では角餅が使われていだそうです。父親の両親は愛知県の北東にある長野県出身でした。バックグラウンドが見えるのも興味深いですね。
日本人と話す機会があれば，彼が育った場所のお餅の形の話題もおもしろいかもしれないですね！😁

Still warm in Japanese October/日本の10月はまだ暖かい🍃🌤️

Hi,Here Nottingham is getting cold and daytime is getting shorter😳 How’s your place? The end of this month in Europe change to winter time.In the UK October starts to remind us Autumn and Winter but in Japan has still warm weather although the weather is getting autumn. Technically Typhoon is an Autumn thing in Japan on the other hand when it’s sunny Japanese autumn has mild and comfortable weather. Also the flight ticket to go to Japan is kind of cheap season as well! Maybe a good season to go as well🤔 Those photos are taken In October!

みなさんこんにちは！ここノッティンガムでは少しずつ寒くなってきて日が短くなってきています😳みなさんの場所はいかがでしょうか？ヨーロッパでは今月の終わりには冬時間に変わります。イギリスでは10月になると秋と冬を感じさせます。でも日本ではまだ暖かいですが秋を感じさせる天気になります。厳密にいうと台風は秋の一部とされていますが，晴れの時には日本の秋は穏やかで心地よい天気になります。しかも飛行機のチケットも比較的安いシーズンです！もしかしたら旅行に行くのにいい季節かもしれません🤔これらの写真は10月に撮ったものです。

Hi! Bonjour! How are you doing? This month is from France which I went holiday around Alps region in France🇫🇷🏔️ One day Car said it was 40°C outside 🥵 A bit hotter than UK isn’t it😅 I share about what I found in France! There was a book/ stationary shop then I found that French people’s love of Japanese cultures. Of course in the UK there is a lot of Manga and Asian corner but I felt it was another level than British one. Especially they sale Naruto and Dragon ball’s board game which I’ve never seen that in Japan😳 Interesting to see French packages about Japanese cultures!
