What an amazing day! 🙌

We loved singing with the brilliant Mark De Lisser at the Albert Hall Conference Centre yesterday! 🎶

Our signing schools had a fantastic time taking part in the afternoon workshop, learning warm-ups, developing their vocal skills, and singing popular songs alongside other Nottinghamshire KS2 choirs 🎤

The energy was off the charts - with big thanks to Mark for getting everyone singing, moving and having so much fun!

We’re pretty sure the children (and us!) will be singing these songs for the rest of the week 🎤✨

Last Sunday we were honoured to be part of the Knife Angel Closing Ceremony at St Mary Magdalene Church, Newark! 🎶

The dramatic Knife Angel sculpture has been on display outside Newark Town Hall since April. The sculpture is made from over 100,000 seized knife blades, and is touring the UK as part of the UK National Youth Anti-Violence campaign.

Our vocal team have spent the past few months working with six local schools on the Knife Angel Choir, led in partnership with Newark and Sherwood District Council .

18 young singers aged 6–18 took to the stage to perform Brave by Sara Bareilles to a packed audience of family, teachers and community members! 🤩

Thank you to our schools:
Barnby Road Academy
The King’s Church of England Primary Academy
John Blow Primary
Orston Primary
Magnus Church of England Academy
Newark Academy

As part of the Knife Angel legacy project, we’ll be recording 12 of the singers in early June, followed by a visit to a local radio station 🎧

We are incredibly proud of our singers! A huge thank you to We Are Newark for inviting us to be part of such a meaningful and memorable project.
