The hall is one of the larger on University Park and houses both single study and en suite bedrooms. Dear all

Halls Accommodation and Catering Services – Halls of Residence Survey

Your feedback is very valuable to us and we would like to hear from as many students as possible. We do listen to you so please let us know about your experience regarding the accommodation and catering in your hall.

There will be a FREE NU2Sport Football session on Sunday 10th November at 8.00pm on University Park 3G. It’s a slight change to the normal rules of Football as its Gaelic Football. It’s a great opportunity for you to try something different for FREE and if you do enjoy it, it will be on the NU2Sport timetable next term for you to develop your skills further. It combines various skills from basketball, football, rugby and more. Take a look at the link below for a quick video on the sport.

Afternoon All
Just a reminder that you can book to keep your room for storage or stay over the Christmas and Easter vacations. Rooms are going fast and availability is limited if you would like to take advantage of this Service please collect a booking form from the hall office as soon as possible!!!.

Don’t forget to come and join your Management team for a cuppa/biscuit and a chat, throughout the day each Wednesday in the bar, the last 2 weeks have been really great as we love to hear how your all getting on and you can take the opportunity to ask any questions you might have. Lastly please report any problems/ faults with your rooms or any public areas straight away so we can solve the problem as fast as is possible for you.

Do you want to be on your JCR Committee?

Do you want a say in how your Hall is run?

Then look no further! The Students’ Union are looking for anybody in halls who wants to represent their fellow residents as well as organise a number of hall activities!

We will be holding an information evening on Wednesday 2nd October, 7.30pm at Rutland Dining Hall – this is a must for anybody vaguely interested in finding out all the benefits of being on your Hall Committee!

Hi All Just to update you that this Thursday Oct 3rd {1700HRS ...1900HRS Hall Dining Room} both the Police and Security will be attending Ancaster Hall to offer 2 FREE pieces of Software to all Hall Students Software details as follows.

IMMOBILISE...... Helps Police identify the Owner of lost and stolen Property 100s of times nationwide each day
Records all your expensive electrical items SERIEL NUMBERS onto a National Police DATABASE that if lost can help trace items back to you should they be recovered.
Items Immobilise works best with LAPTOPS,MOBILE PHONES,IPODS,IPADS,GAMES MACHINES,CAMERAS ECT

LOJACK............Once installed on your Laptop the Computrace Agent is embedded into your Computer to which it is extremely difficult to detect or delete.
If Laptop is either lost or stolen you contact Police then log into Lojack centre {FULL DETAILS WILL BE PROVIDED} to report your Laptop as missing.
The Recovery team will then be able to trace and locate your Laptop as soon as it is connected to the internet and will transmit precise location GPS and movements of Laptop every 15mins
As soon as enough info gathered Lojack Recovery team will contact local Police who will attend location to recover your Laptop.

Dear students,
Hopefully you have all settled into your hall and are enjoying your first week with us at Ancaster.
If you wish to keep your room for storage or stay over Christmas and Easter vacations collect the form from the hall office. First come first served, we have the following left remaining to book for Christmas break and will go fast:

En Suite: 55
Private Shared bath: 11
Single Study: 3
Discounted Single: 12
Large Single: 6

Secondly any student who still has a “Ancaster hall” access card please return it to the hall office. You should have now all arranged your University student cards. If you have not yet received your student card please come to the hall office.

Lastly the hall office is open from 8am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday if you have any problems or issues please report them to us so we can deal with them quickly, Also for the next 4 weeks Hall Management would like to invite you to join us for refreshments in the hall bar throughout Wednesday each week from 10 am, to answer any questions or queries you may have or even just for a friendly chat.

Hi All the official date for moving in to Halls is Sunday 22nd September. Please arrive at the hall between 11am and 3pm to collect you room key and ID card.

The check time is listed is from 10am for Catered Halls but we are asking Ancaster students to arrive from 11am as we have guests departing and we will be busy getting your rooms ready!

Once you have collected your room key and ID card from us the Ancaster Week One Reps will let you know what they have planned for you and point you in the direction of your new room.

There will be a Welcome and fire and safety speech in the main dining room at 5.15pm from the Warden and Hall Management of Ancaster Hall (all students must attend this talk) Followed by meet your tutors and Dinner, the main address from the Vice Chancellor will be in the sports centre at 8.20pm.
