Hello everyone, we hope you all had an amazing holiday away from CFS and just can't wait to get back to see us 😎

A special welcome to our Year 7, Year 11, Year 12 and Year 13 students, who return tomorrow (3rd September), and to all other year groups, who will return on Friday (4th September).

To help ensure a smooth start to the term, please take a few moments to check that your child is fully prepared for school:

Uniform and Appearance
Please ensure your child meets our uniform and appearance expectations from their first day back, including:
• Wearing the correct school uniform.
• Plain black school shoes only. Trainers, plimsolls and canvas shoes are not permitted.
• Having natural hair colour only.
• No false nails or false eyelashes.
• Wearing uniform smartly and in line with the school's published Uniform Policy.

Equipment
All students should arrive with the required equipment for learning. This includes:
• Pens, pencils and ruler
• Any subject specific equipment required
• Their phone pouch
A full equipment list is available on the school website (same link as above).

Phone Pouches
Year 7 students will be issued with a phone pouch on their first day.
If a pouch has been lost, a replacement can be purchased from Reception for £5.

Smart Watches
Please be reminded that smart watches are not permitted during the school day. Students who bring a smart watch to school will be required to place it in their phone pouch.

Celebrating the Class of 2026. Our Best GCSE Results Ever!

Today was a truly special day as we welcomed our Year 11 students back to collect their GCSE results. The atmosphere was filled with joy, excitement, pride and celebration as we marked an incredible set of achievements from the Class of 2026.

We are delighted to announce that these are the best GCSE results in the history of our school.

Behind every result is a story of determination, resilience, commitment and hard work. These outcomes are not just grades on a piece of paper; they are a reflection of the countless hours of effort shown by our students, the unwavering support of families, and the dedication of staff who have walked alongside them throughout their journey.

We are immensely proud of every single student. Whether students achieved their highest grades, overcame personal challenges, exceeded expectations, or simply achieved the results they worked so hard for, every success deserves recognition. Today is about celebrating each student's journey and acknowledging the courage and perseverance that brought them to this moment.

This year also saw a record number of Grade 9s awarded across the school, highlighting the exceptional achievement of so many students.

A special mention must go to Neve G, whose extraordinary accomplishment deserves particular recognition. Neve achieved a remarkable 10 Grade 9s, including a Grade 9 in Further Mathematics a truly exceptional achievement and a testament to her outstanding dedication, talent and work ethic.

As a school community, we could not be prouder. The Class of 2026 have set a new benchmark and leave behind a legacy of excellence that will inspire future generations of students.

To our parents and carers, thank you for the encouragement, support and belief you have shown throughout this journey.

To our students, congratulations. You should be incredibly proud of all that you have accomplished. Well done!!

Staff will be onsite to discuss the next steps and offer any support, help and advice if it is required.

All families are welcome to accompany your child to collect their results.

Today we are incredibly proud to celebrate the achievements of our Sixth Form students as they receive their A Level and Post-16 results.

These results reflect not only academic success, but also the resilience, commitment and determination our students have shown throughout their studies. Behind every grade is a story of hard work, perseverance and personal growth.

We would like to congratulate all of our students on what they have achieved and thank our dedicated staff, families and carers for the support they have provided along the way.

Whether our students are progressing to university, apprenticeships, employment or other exciting opportunities, we know they leave us with the skills, confidence and ambition to be successful in their next chapter.

We wish every member of the Class of 2026 the very best for the future and look forward to hearing about their continued successes.

To celebrate the National Year of Reading this summer, we would love for you to 'Get Caught Reading'. As you can see, Jarvis the CFS Co-Curricular Cockerel is enjoying his book whilst skydiving. Where do you like to read?

Take a photo of yourself reading in your favourite place, an obscure place or a place that is meaningful to you and send your photos to Miss Hill ([email protected]) and we will post them on here if you would like.

Just let Miss Hill know that you are OK with that and you have your parents/carers permission.

We have now finished our 2025-26 year at CFS and there are a lot of sad people around the school. We would love to say that it's because the school is closed to the students (and most of the staff) and they all want to carry on their learning for the Summer, but we all know the real reason 😢

Firstly, the "CFS House Cup" and the "Tom Cooney CFS Sports Day Trophy" have been handed out to the winning houses. Mr Musgrove (Whitehead) was chuffed again to be winning the Sports Day Trophy but for the first time since we have been running the House Cup, Mr Denzel (McKenzie) and all the students have the bragging rights. Sing it loud everyone 🏆

Secondly, we do have a few members of staff that are leaving us. Mrs Cross (Teaching Assistant) who has been with us for two years and Mr Charles (Science) who has been with us for a year, both are moving on to greater things.

The member of the CFS staff that we are the most upset about is Mr Gale. All those years ago in 2001, Mr Gale joined us as a fresh faced (non-grey haired) PGCE teacher with a destination on the road ahead of him that he never even knew he was going to arrive at.

Teaching History, he would carry on, until in 2010, where he would start on the Senior Leadership Team part of his career at CFS, becoming an Assistant Head.

Four years later, in 2014, the Deputy Headship would be his job, leaving only one jump until he was the Head of CFS. To quote Mr Gale "I sat there and thought I might not be able to do this, but let's try it." when the Headship position became available. He lives by this and wants all of the students who have been at the school, to live by it too.

So, in 2015, he became the Headteacher of CFS and the rest, shall we say, is history. The school has gone from strength to strength over the years and he has now decided that there is time for a change for him and his family.

After 25 years at CFS, Mr Gale has said he will be handing over the "virtual baton" on to our new Headteacher, Mrs Pearson (Head of School at Park Vale - one of the Redhill Academy Trust Schools) who we all look forward to carrying on improving CFS to it's absolute greatest potential.

We all wish Mr Gale the best for the future and that he carries on showing other schools how to be run, as well as he ran CFS all these years.

GOOD LUCK MR GALE!!! WE WILL MISS YOU!!! 😭❤️

Finally, we all look forward to seeing you in September at the start of the new school year, So please, take care, look after yourselves and enjoy your time off. You all deserve it 😊

As part of our Careers Programme, every Friday during tutor time, students engage with Labour Market Information to inspire them to consider potential careers in a wide variety of sectors.

This week, we are looking at the role of "Aquarist".

A fantastic day of adventure and thrills at Alton Towers with our Year 12's for their rewards trip, celebrating all the hard work and achievements of their first year in Sixth Form!

The final post of the CFS Paris Trip 2026 is now upon us so here it is.

Firstly we must thank all the parents/carers for entrusting us with the cherubs for the weekend. We did you proud and happily gave them back to you all in one piece...sorry 🤣

Secondly, our students. WOW!!! You were amazing. You all got on together like you were one big happy family and believe us when we say this, it wasn't just us that said this about you. You should all be very proud of yourselves ❤️

Thirdly, Victor. Without Victor, all of Miss Hill's plans would have gone to pot as we wouldn't have got from A to B. What a lovely driver who couldn't sing our students praises enough. Apparently the other drivers from the other schools that were at the Chateau were very jealous 😊

Fourth in line are Mr Denzel and Mr Stott who gave up their weekend to help out and help make the trip possible. Both of us absolutely loved being included in the merriment of the trip which you all made so easy.

Lastly, is Miss Hill. Just an amazing, caring person who not only gave her free time for the trip but spent the time organizing it all so it could run as smoothly as it possibly could while keeping everyone safe. Truth be told, she lives for organizing things but it is still work 🤣

Also...thank you to all of you who virtually followed our trip. I hope you enjoyed following it as much as we did being on it.
