Established in 1989, Kimberley Shotokan Karate Club is a traditional martial arts club that has been practicing shotokan karate in and around the Kimberley area. Under the guidance of the chief instructor, who personally trained with Soke Hirokazu Kanazawa (10th Dan) and Hanshi Shiro Asano (9th Dan) many students have grown and developed in the dojo over the years, improving not only their karate

skills, but also growing in confidence, improving school work and building a fitter body. There are many personal benefits to be gained from the practice of karate, Personal fitness, self-defence, self-awareness and confidence. Karate is not just a highly effective form of self-defence, but an excellent system of developing a high level of physical fitness and body control. Regular practice helps speed up reactions, develop a strong yet supple body, and provide a system for self-discipline and good health. Self-confidence and awareness are only two of the positive effects that karate training can offer you. We have a good mix of male and female students with both male and female instructors. The KSKC is a non-profit making club, all money made is put back into the club.

A good session this morning at Kimberley Shotokan Karate Club as we put the pieces together in our kata practice. It was fantastic to see all students working hard to improve their understanding of the Kata.

Last night's session at Kimberley Shotokan Karate Club took us right back to our traditional roots with a challenging body conditioning class.

There were no shortcuts just hard work, determination and the spirit to keep going. Every student pushed themselves, supported one another and showed outstanding resilience throughout the session.

As instructors, it's incredibly rewarding to see not only improvements in strength and fitness, but also the attitude, discipline and respect that are at the heart of traditional Shotokan Karate.

A huge well done to everyone who trained last night. You should all be proud of the effort you put in.

Also, please remember that there is no training on Saturday 25th July until Tuesday 11th August as we shut for our summer break.

Great session this morning at Kimberley Shotokan Karate Club as we completed our study our Tekki Shodan. The students rose to the challenge as we changed our way of thinking and expanded our applications.
Great to see all students working hard and most importantly helping each other make progress 👊
