Safe to say some of our teachers are more excited than the children about our newest addition! 🥰🐾

Who else remembers reading the original The Gruffalo back at school? 📚 Years later, it’s still such a firm favourite with children (and clearly our grown-ups too! 😂).

And now, we have the privilege of welcoming ‘Gruffalo Granny’ to our setting! 🐻🌳✨

We can’t wait to see the stories, adventures and learning opportunities that come from having such a special visitor in our setting. 💕

We see children as Explorers, Investigators and Thinkers, recognising that learning is a journey and that every child develops in their own way.

🔎 EXPLORER
Children are curious. They explore new experiences, follow their interests, try things out and discover what is around them.

🕵️ INVESTIGATOR
Children begin to dig deeper. They ask questions, make connections, test ideas, experiment and find out why things happen.

💡 THINKER
Children reflect on their experiences, solve problems, make decisions, share their ideas and begin to apply what they have learned in new ways.

These aren't fixed stages that children simply move through. A child might be an Explorer in one area, an Investigator in another and a Thinker in something they are particularly passionate about. 🌱

Our role is to notice these moments, celebrate them and provide experiences that encourage children to keep wondering, questioning, discovering and moving their learning forward.

Because for us, learning isn't about reaching the finish line — it's about enjoying the journey. ❤️

🌳 The story behind our logo

Have you ever wondered why our logo is a tree? 🌳❤️

11 years ago, Bestwood Park Nursery started as a small pack-away preschool, welcoming 3–4 year olds for just a morning or afternoon session.

Since then, we’ve grown in so many ways. From our original little preschool, we’ve grown into the nursery and out-of-school club we are today — and that’s where the branches of our tree come from. 🌿

But our tree represents so much more than the growth of our nursery.

Every branch represents the children who have been part of our journey over the last 10 years. Some have stayed with us for a short time, others for many years, but every single child has left their own little mark on our tree. 🍃

And at the heart of it all is our heart-shaped foundation ❤️

Because we believe that children grow best when they are surrounded by love, nurture, care and a sense of belonging

We nurture them, watch them grow, and then, just like the branches of our tree, they begin to blossom and branch out in their own unique direction. 🌸

Different paths. Different personalities. Different dreams.

But each one will always be a little part of the Bestwood Park Nursery family. ❤️

11 years of growing little people, growing our nursery and growing together. 🌳

There’s nothing quite like a morning in the mud kitchen! 🥣🍃

From muddy cakes to magical potions, the children have been busy mixing, pouring, creating and letting their imaginations run wild. It might be messy, but that’s where some of the best learning happens—and it’s all easily washed away! 🤎
