Very good opportunity in an exciting environment with great colleagues!
SUP&R ITN
The SUP&R International Training Network (ITN) will offer a training-through-research programme to selected young researchers across Europe.
The project includes a high level four year training programme which will be international, multi-disciplinary and multi-sectors. To achieve the overall research and training objectives, the SUP&R ITN has been implemented with 6 Work Packages (WPs). Training-through-research projects will be delivered within three scientific research work packages (WP1-WP3), while three additional WPs will handle

SUP&R ITN was a 4-year Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions project led by the University of Nottingham with partners from Ireland, France, Italy and Spain (NTEC - Nottingham Transportation Engineering Centre, REPSOL, University College Dublin, Università degli Studi di Palermo, IFSTTAR, Universidad de Granada, AECOM, Universidad de Huelva, Irish Rail, Sacyr Vallehermoso, etc). This project aimed at developing sustainable materials and techniques to be used in pavements and railways, and create a multi-criteria decision tool to assess sustainability. In addition to the research efforts, SUP&R ITN was dedicated to the training of a new generation of engineers able to introduce the concept of sustainability in their future work. During the 4 years, nine training weeks took place all over EU to provide the fellows with the best possible resources in this field. They were 4 years of hard work but also satisfaction. The fellows created a network, between them and with the partners, that will remain for future collaborations, as it has already happened in other EU projects. Currently, all the fellows are working, in public and private institutions, pushing the principles that they learnt in SUP&R ITN towards the achievement of more sustainable transport infrastructures.
SUP&R ITN - Sustainable Pavement & Railway Initial Training Network We all want efficient roads and railways that don’t ruin our environment. But what does this sustainability look like? And how do we assess it? www.superitn.eu

Have you been an ITN fellow?
Did you have an international, intersectoral, or interdisciplinary mobility experience?
Your story is worth telling!
The MCAA and Eurodoc are working in partnership to survey how structured mobility programmes for MSCA ITN Doctoral Graduates impacted the participants’ careers, and thereby to evaluate what could be improved in future actions.
Please follow the link to know more about the study and to participate in shaping the future of researcher mobility:https://www.mariecuriealumni.eu/form/survey-structured-mobility-msca-itn-doctoral-graduates.
Best regards,
The MCAA and Eurodoc teams
PS: If you are proud of your achievements, why not compete for one of the 2018 MCAA Annual Awards (winners to be presented in Vienna next year) – the deadline has just been extended to 19th November. Seehttps://www.mariecuriealumni.eu/mcaa-awards.
Survey on Structured Mobility for MSCA ITN Doctoral Graduates | Marie Curie Alumni Association Doctoral candidates are increasingly being asked to be internationally, intersectorally, and interdisciplinarily mobile. Structured mobility programmes have been developed at institutions to help train and support doctoral candidates to become skilled in such 'triple I' mobility. One such structured...

Within the framework of SUP&R ITN, Avido Yuliestyan (ESR5) has developed his doctoral research thesis. Having the opportunity to conduct research in such an international joint academia-industry environment (at the University of Huelva-Spain, REPSOL-Spain and IFSTTAR-France research facility) has allowed him to improve the quality of the thesis. On November 2nd, 2017, he defended his thesis entitled "Binder design for low-temperature asphalt mixes" which confer a doctoral degree in chemical engineering from Universidad de Huelva.
