The A Level English Literature students went to see an exciting and engaging production of Shakespeare's 'Othello' at Cast Theatre in Doncaster. As the main set text for the A Level course, students need to have a thorough understanding of the narrative, characters and tragic elements present in the play. They enjoyed watching the production which shows the bitter, tragic villain, Iago, manipulating the noble but flawed tragic hero, Othello.
Next up for the Literature students is a trip to Quad in Derby to see a live screening of another set text, 'Richard II', also by Shakespeare; proving that seeing the plays live is the best way to develop their understanding of the text.

When Alastair Campbell came to visit 6th Form, thanks to the persistence of Denny Taylor. He encouraged all the students to get actively involved in some form of politics.
