The sun came out and so did the smiles at Selston High School as students collected their rewards for showing the Selston values of Ambition, Teamwork, Honesty and respect.
Celebrations included:
A lunchtime DJ set from MC Greasley.
The Proud Station where students select their rewards for making an extra special effort with a piece of work.
Early lunches for the year with the most improved attendance (Year 8) and Year 11 to reward them for their excellent efforts in their exams
Not forgetting The Golden ticket Prize Draw where lucky students who had been awarded Golden Tickets during the term enter them in a prize draw to win rewards.
Finally all students were very grateful, especially with the weather, to be given an ice lolly to help keep them cool as they made there way home.
With half term next week we look forward to welcoming back all students for 8:25am on Monday 1st June.
Thanks to all of our families for their support.

We are delighted to remind you that we are planning an End-of-Year trip to Alton Towers for all Selston High School students on Friday 24th July 2026. This trip is a fantastic opportunity for students to celebrate their hard work and achievements throughout the year.
Details of the Trip:
• Destination: Alton Towers Theme Park
• Date: Friday 24th July 2026
• Year groups- Year 7-Year 10.
• Cost: £40 (this includes transport and entry to the park)
Who can join us?
We want this trip to be a positive and rewarding experience for everyone. Students will be required to meet a few simple expectations throughout the 4 half terms from January to July in order to secure their place on the trip. Each student will be issued with a postcard (an example of this can be seen below) to keep in their Knowledge Companion, with the challenge of meeting certain criteria each half term. The vast majority of students do this consistently, so the added element of tracking their progress towards meeting the trip criteria brings an element of positive competition for all.
Payments can now be made via Parentpay

Friday 22nd May 2026
As the weather is set to be warm this Friday students DO NOT need to wear blazers or ties. Please ensure students have a water bottle so they can stay hydrated throughout the day and, at the end of school, there will be an icy treat to take away.
Early Lunch
The year group with the most improved attendance this week will receive an early lunch as will ALL Yr11 students, in recognition of their hard work over the last two weeks with their exams.
The day will otherwise be as usual with buses collecting students at 3pm as we break up for the summer half term with school re-opening at 8:25am on Monday 1st June.
