Our lovely Baby Room Lead Sophie took the ducks home for the weekend so they wasn't lonely π
Here they are having their first bath, which they absolutely love π₯π€© although it does seem to promote their bowels too π
They are going to be so missed when they go on Friday π’

π₯π₯ Ducklings at Ducklings π₯π₯
On Tuesday, we had some eggs delivered by Incredible Eggs so we can take part in a 2 week hatching programme π€©
Taking part in the duck hatching programme provides all of our children with a wonderful hands-on learning experience full of awe, wonder, and curiosity β¨οΈ
Watching the eggs hatch and caring for the ducklings helps to develop:
π empathy
π communication and language skills
π understanding of the natural world
π early scientific thinking through real-life experiences
It also encourages children to ask questions, make observations, and engage in meaningful play-based learning while creating lasting memories and excitement within the setting.
"If children grow up not knowing about nature and appreciating it, they will not understand it, and if they don't understand it, they won't protect it, and if they don't protect it, who will?" 'Conserving Wonder', by Sir David Attenborough π
We are all so excited to watch them grow over the next week π€©π

Physical Development
Each week throughout the term, we welcome Coach Nathan from Mini Athletics Nottingham and Loughborough into our nursery, who helps to promote physical development for our Nursery Class children π
Physical development in early childhood is crucial as it helps to build foundational strength, coordination and confidence. This all links directly with the child's cognitive, emotional, and social development, which helps with:
π strengthening gross and fine motor skills
π improving memory, attention, and brain development
π elevating moods, boosting confidence, and encouraging self-regulation
π setting the stage for a healthy lifestyle, reducing the risk of childhood obesity, and strengthening bones and muscles
π building relationships with peers, boosting teamwork and social confidence
