Staying cool.

I've overheard that some nurseries today are "banning" children from going outside as its "too hot". What a mistake!

How do you think children cope in foreign countries? The solution is...we adapt our practice.

Children are dressed in cool clothes with hats and suncream

We went for a cool woodland walk this morning and a quick park play with plenty of water breaks. And used buggies for smaller legs.

We rest! We use fans and open windows and close curtains.

We use water play undercover

We drink water and rest and dry. And repeat.

All children have gone home super happy, with a bag full of wet clothes. Well hydrated, cool and with memories to last a lifetime.

Nurseries take note! Plan ahead. Put up a gazebo, bring out water and ice play! Be sensible don't ban!!!!!

Patio table and chairs cleaned and out for use again....

A childminders week starts on a Sunday (much like a teachers....)

Now to tackle the playroom but hoping to be outside as much as possible next week.....
