Do we have any inspiring young cricketers among us at Holgate?π
We are delighted to announce that Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club will be coming to Holgate to deliver a series of exciting after-school cricket sessions for our students. π
Whether your child is already a keen cricketer looking to develop their skills, or someone who would like to try the sport for the very first time, these sessions are a fantastic opportunity to learn from experienced coaches in a fun and supportive environment.
The sessions are open to students of all abilities and year groups, with activities designed to help participants build confidence, improve their technique, and enjoy being active with their peers.
These sessions will take place on Tuesdays, with the first session commencing on Tuesday 9 June from 3.20pm to 4.20pm, and will run for four weeks. π
We are thrilled to be working alongside Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club and look forward to seeing our students take advantage of this exciting opportunity. Who knows β we may even discover some future cricket stars in our midst! π
π Information has also been sent via Weduc.

Tissues at the ready! π’
On Friday 22 May, we said an emotional goodbye to our wonderful year 13 students by hosting a special leavers' celebration event. π
The event was a lovely opportunity for students to thank their teachers, celebrate their successes, and say their goodbyes. We even had a visit from a local ice cream van, which went down a treat, especially as the sun was shining and the weather was warm. π¦βοΈ
We are incredibly grateful for everything our year 13 students have contributed during their time at Holgate and are so proud of each and every one of them.
We wish them every success in the future! π

Prior to the half-term break, our year 8 girls' netball team competed in the E.ON Next Netball Festival.π
15 teams took part, and we are delighted to share that Holgate secured an impressive seven wins from seven matches, earning first place overall and the title of festival champions. π
A huge congratulations to the team. The girls were a credit to themselves and the school throughout the event and should be incredibly proud of their achievement. ππ

As we head into half term, itβs a great time to look back on some of the fantastic activities and highlights our students have enjoyed over the past six weeks. π
Highlights have included a fashion experience day at Nottingham Trent University, a generous donation of supplies from Tesco for our sixth form students, and three of our students being selected for the Young Writersβ second edition of Stranger Sagas β Itβs a Mystery. ππ
We also held our year 6 information evening, celebrated our year 7 netball team taking part in round 1 of the CVL Netball League at Hall Park Academy in Eastwood, and enjoyed the year 11 geography trip to Sherwood Forest. ππ³
Letβs not forget that our year 11 and year 13 students are currently in the midst of their exams. Good luck to you all β keep doing your best! π
Finally, have a wonderful May half term, and we look forward to welcoming our students back on Monday 1 June. π

Last week, a group of our year 10 students enjoyed an incredible fashion experience day at Nottingham Trent University! π
During the visit, they explored the exciting world of fashion and textiles, meeting NTU alumni currently working in the fashion industry alongside current university students from across the fashion and textiles faculty. πππ
Well done to all the students who attended the trip β your attitude and behaviour were exemplary throughout. We would also like to thank NTU for hosting such an inspiring experience. π
