The children in the nest have enjoyed learning about their new story 'The Gruffalo' this week. They have used props to act out the story, used symbols to identify the characters and have also enjoyed lots of sensory learning such as making 'owl icecream'.

Year 4 had a fabulous day at Yorkshire Wildlife Park today, exploring and learning all about rainforests as part of their 'What a Wonderful World' topic! 🌿🦁🌎🐒

From learning about the layers of a rainforest to discovering incredible rainforest animals, the children were thoroughly engaged and asked some fantastic questions throughout the day.

Welcome to all our new Reception children!

A very warm welcome to all our new Reception children as they begin their learning journey with Archway Learning Trust. We can't wait to watch you learn, grow and flourish in the years ahead.

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you have all had a wonderful summer holiday and have enjoyed spending quality time with your families.

We are very much looking forward to welcoming our children back to Bluecoat Primary Academy for the start of the new academic year. This is a polite reminder that pupils will return to school on Thursday 3rd September 2026 and Friday 4th September 2026.

Please note that Tuesday 1st September and Wednesday 2nd September 2026 are INSET Days, and school will be closed to pupils on these dates while staff undertake training and preparation for the new school year.

We are excited to begin another fantastic year of learning, achievement and opportunity, and we can't wait to see all of our children back in school on Thursday 3rd September.

Until then, enjoy the final few days of the summer break and we look forward to welcoming everyone back very soon.

Peacocks and Flamingos had an absolutely wonderful time last week making our own foot spa to help us with the hot weather.

The Nest children (and staff!) had a wonderful time at Twinlakes this week. The children had an amazing time and were so brave trying lot's of new things!
