Ever wondered how much terne coated stainless steel dulls down? The original roof was done five years ago and we had to go back today to replace a bay damaged by stone falling from the tower.

The only reason we ever go back to a roof done in lead is when some low life steals it. This was salvaged from a church in Derbyshire which we had to recover in stainless steel five years ago after a lead theft.

Clock tower in Middleton. New 8lb lead to the top and vertical welsh slates. The work to the cockerel, weathervane and painting of the louvres was done by the customer who is 84 years young. I wish I'd thought of sponsoring him lol.

As part of our work renewing the leadwork on the clock tower we were asked to remove the weathervane and cockerel so that it could be painted and re gilded. Well done Mr. Marsh a lovely job.
In case you are wondering the dents on the cockerel are bullet marks. A favourite pastime for folks years ago.
