Have you heard about our specialist children’s therapy clinic Midlands Child and Family Therapy Centre in Aslockton, Nottingham?
It’s hard to believe it’s already been two years since we opened the doors to our beautiful, purpose-designed therapy clinic, and what a journey it’s been!
Before this, we were based in a rented space in West Bridgford, offering occupational therapy services alongside Dr Zoe Webb and her team at Synchrony Psychology. When the chance came to buy and renovate our own building in Aslockton, we jumped at it, as the feel of the building was exactly what we had been after. We were thrilled when Dr Webb’s team joined us there too.
Our clinic was designed with children at the heart of every decision. From the peaceful countryside drive in, to the calm and welcoming therapy spaces inside, our goal was to create a place where children feel safe, regulated, and right at home.
We now have:
• Three beautiful sensory integration rooms for assessing and treating sensory processing needs
• Dedicated spaces for building functional skills like handwriting, dressing and motor planning
• Parent rooms for one-to-one support
• Specialist rooms for attachment assessments and therapeutic work
With Dr Webb’s team based at the clinic, we’re able to offer joint working for families too. Their team provides autism assessments, DDP, Theraplay, and a wide range of mental health support, all under one roof.
We’re also proud to be expanding our services even further. We’re in the process of launching alternative education services for children who are out of school, working closely with the City Council to get this up and running as soon as possible. Although it’s a small offer to start with, we hope it can play a part in addressing the huge gap in services for children unable to access mainstream education.
And our work goes far beyond the clinic:
• We provide therapy and consultation in special schools
• Deliver assessments, treatment and reports for EHCPs
• Support parent-funded packages, NHS projects, and post-adoption/fostering teams
• Work in partnership with a range of professionals across sectors
We also offer a range of training packages, which can be delivered online or in person at your place of work. Whether you’re a school, service or individual professional, our training is designed to be accessible, practical, and rooted in real clinical experience. From sensory processing and trauma-informed practice to understanding demand avoidance and attachment needs—we’re here to share what we know to help others make a difference too.
Our team is highly trained, values-led, and never overstretches beyond our expertise. If we don’t have the right specialist knowledge, we’ll say so, and signpost you to someone who does. We take huge pride in offering services that are ethical, informed, and always centred around what’s best for the child.
Turning what was once an old post office, sorting office and flats into a thriving, child-focused therapy hub has been one of the best things we’ve ever done. Hearing children laughing and engaging in therapy every day reminds us why we do what we do.
We hope you love our space—and our work—as much as we do.
