Ellis Guilford School The Ellis Guilford School currently has 1300+ students on roll and is one of the largest secondary schools in Nottingham.

On the 1 November 2018 we became an Academy, by joining the Creative Education Trust (CET). Ellis Guilford offers a superb learning environment with exceptional facilities, excellent pastoral care and a great ethos. We are able to offer a broad curriculum which includes both academic and vocational choices. We also engage with local colleges, universities and employers to prepare our students for life beyond school and provide a wide range of extra-curricular and enrichment activities.

As we continue to get ready for the new academic year starting next week. We wanted to look back on a year of EGScellence here at EGS.

Our core values of ambition, integrity and respect are a feature of daily life in school, from arriving on time and wearing uniform with pride to completing homework. Since September 2025, these everyday achievements have been celebrated through half-termly 'EGScellence EGStravaganzas'. During these week-long celebrations, children displaying core values receive Blue Tickets, take a turn to 'Spin the Wheel', attend a VIP party with the principal, or enjoy a visit from an on-site ice cream van.

We also held formal EGScellence Awards ceremonies throughout the year to celebrate individual triumphs in each of the three core values. Gratitude is shared across our school community, with children recently writing more than 1,500 personal 'thank you' cards to staff to recognise their dedication to teaching.

What an EGScellent year we have had and we can't wait to get started again for 26/27!

We’re already looking forward to welcoming you back in school next week to kick off a new term filled with ambition, learning and EGScellence.

We look forward to welcoming our Year 7 children on Wednesday 2nd September, before the rest of the school returns on Thursday 3rd September.

A fantastic morning of celebration at Ellis Guilford School!

We are delighted to be celebrating another year of strong GCSE success, with improvements across all areas and a record-breaking number of children achieving Grade 5 or above in both English and Maths.

It has been a pleasure to share this wonderful news with our children this morning and see them celebrating their achievements with family, friends and staff. These results are a testament to the hard work, resilience and determination shown throughout their studies, supported every step of the way by our dedicated staff and families.

Congratulations to all of our children. We are incredibly proud of you and look forward to seeing you flourish as you take your next steps into sixth form, college, apprenticeships and specialist training programmes. 🌟

We are EGScited to welcome our Year 11 children back to collect their GCSE results tomorrow! 🎉

GCSE results will be available for collection from the Main Hall between 9.00am and 10.30am. The main gates will be open, and staff will be on hand throughout the morning to offer support, guidance and congratulations as children take their next steps.

We encourage all children to collect their results in person and share this important milestone with friends and staff. We look forward to celebrating with you!

If you are unable to collect your results yourself, you may nominate someone to do so on your behalf. A signed letter addressed to Mrs Passam/Mrs Wyer must be provided in advance, stating the name of the person collecting your results. The nominated person must bring photographic identification when collecting the results.

Please note that we are unable to provide results via email, text message or telephone.

As the new academic year approaches, we would like to remind families about our uniform EGSpectations for our PE kit.

Our requirements are as follows;

âś… All children will need a NAVY EGS PE top

âś… All children will need plain navy shorts, leggings or joggers. They must be plain with no logos, stripes, patterns.

âś… EGS branded bottoms can be purchased from Just Schoolwear, but these are optional.

âś… Please ensure all items are clearly named.

đź’Ž For health and safety reasons, ALL piercings and jewellery must be removed before PE lessons. This includes any new piercings children may have had during the summer holidays.

Thank you for your support in helping us keep all children safe and ready to take part in PE.
