A class project that wasn’t all about the clay . A lady wanted to make a bee and bug house so I put my woodworking skills to use and drilled some holes in a block of wood.
Looks fab and can’t wait to see if it gets any visitors!! 🐝🐞🕷️

Been tinkering as it was National puffin week last week. ❤️ I think Puffins are the cutest & funniest of birds and I’m off to see them nesting in a week or so .
This little plaque is yet to be bisque fired so just painted in coloured clay slips at the moment. If I remember , I’ll post the final result when it’s out of the firings ☺️ x

We had our fair share of April showers but it was still a lovely day pottering at The Mug Tug. Throwing and sculpting some lovely creations by the waters edge couldn’t be more perfect!
Sorry it looked like a bomb had gone off in a clay factory afterwards but the lovely Lesley carried on smiling as I waved goodbye and she prepared to mop the floor 😂
I was too busy to take many pictures and one couldn’t make it through Facebook censorship 🫣😆

A first workshop organized through the lovely Melissa at Angel Emporium. 💕
A lovely evening making hares, chickens and even an owl! It was fab seeing all the characters develop and how different they all were at the end.
A big thank you also to Alice’s Tea Shop for the use of their premises and the exceptionally nice cakes!
A careful drive home…avoiding any pot holes (not easy in Keyworth 😂) and thankfully all safe and sound ready to go through firing once dry.
Everyone had such a nice evening that Melissa and I will look at future dates and makes so please keep an eye out for them.
In the meantime Melissa has got a few other creative workshops organised so do have a look if there’s anything you fancy .
I’ll update with a post firing picture of tonight’s creations when they’re finished 😃

A Very Happy New Year to you all !
I don’t get the chance to jump on here very often . 2025 saw classes and workshops keeping me very busy plus anyone who knows me personally knows how much I love learning and developing so for the 3 months running up to Christmas I embarked on a ‘Women in Construction’ course 😁 I’m not intending to become a builder 😆 but did learn some really useful skills including bricklaying, plastering, joinery and decorating! I’m looking forward to putting these new skills to good use.
On top of that I developed further skills learning from sculptor Brendan Hesmondalgh in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales . I’ve already signed up for this year .
Over the next few weeks I plan to update my website to give you a taste of what you can learn on one of my taster workshops . Come and have a go at throwing your own pot or make something from scratch to be proud to use . Pottery is relaxing , stress relieving and rewarding (don’t quote me on that when I’m unloading and reloading a kiln at 11pm on a Sunday 🤣) . Pottery doesn’t have to be perfect to be enjoyed either if you’ve never done it before .
I’ve put a little compilation of varied pics from over the year . When I look back over these it makes me very grateful to have such an amazing life & job! ❤️ . It’s all thanks to the creative, funny ..sometimes a little mad 😉😆 people who I get to be creative with . Thank you xx
Looking forward to more in 2026!! ❤️

Another fabulous day for pottering here at Barton Marina with Lesley at The Mug Tug ashore . Bit of drizzle but it’s always such a peacefully tranquil place with the boats and Marina shops . If you’ve never been then put in on your list and do a spot of pottery painting while you’re here….or a clay workshop as I’m back in the new year! 😄
