✨🏫 It’s Primary School National Offer Day! 🏫✨
Today, lots of families will find out which school their child will be starting this September, such an exciting milestone!
To help support this next step, we’re sharing the Starting Reception Guide. Put together by the Department for Education, the guide helps parents and carers understand what starting school is really like, the small skills that make a big difference, and simple ways to practise at home over the coming months.

The spring weather has finally sprung🌸🌼. We will be having a lot more outside play this term. Outdoor play is crucial for early years development, offering unique opportunities for physical, cognitive, and emotional growth that indoor settings cannot replicate. It improves health (muscular strength, vitamin D), builds resilience through risk-taking, and fosters curiosity. Daily access to outdoor spaces, including in all weathers, supports all seven EYFS learning areas.

Why do we make and use play dough........
Physical Skills: Strengthens hand and finger muscles through squeezing, poking, and rolling.
Creativity & Imagination: Used for sculpting, storytelling, and imaginative play.
Maths & Science: Introduces concepts like measuring, weighing, texture, and cause-and-effect.
Social & Emotional: Calming, allows for self-expression, and boosts pride
By adding tools we:
Provide child-safe scissors, rolling pins, cookie cutters, or stamps.
Sensory Add-ins: Mix in dried rice, lavender, or essential oils.
Learning Aids: Form letters, numbers, or shapes.
Small World Play: Add toy animals, trees, or gems for imaginative scenes.
......plus the children love it❤️

Early years story tables are interactive, literacy-rich, book-related displays featuring props, puppets, and scenery that enable children to explore, retell, and engage with stories. These curated, hands-on areas enhance vocabulary, comprehension, and storytelling skills by allowing children to physically manipulate story elements, fostering both independent and imaginative play.
This week we have chosen 'The very hungry caterpillar'
