“A few years ago I was asked if I wanted to be apart of the Rookie Racing Training Academy and there I met Jack Bell. With Jack being a fitness coach, he helped me and supported me with a tailored fitness plan to improve my upper body and core strength. We decided to go for a 2 day split training plan which really developed me as an overall driver in karting as I now no longer fatigue during a race.

Jack worked mainly on my upper body strength as being a driver it is very key to be fit and strong in this area. Without training it can be physically and mentally tough. I remember always struggling at the end of my races with hand grip and losing my strength to push the wheel, now I can do this with ease by simply following a fitness plan set by jack. I would highly recommend jack to help and support you with your overall fitness and goals in motorsport.”

“At an early age, JB really helped me harness the off track training side to karting, a skill that went on to help me in all other aspects of life too! I struggle with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome in my joints so Jack would tailor a training plan to cater for that, and as my strength built up along with my age, height, weight, the intensity of the exercises would also increase.

Now at 17, I’ve increased my strength training in the gym for 2 years with guidance from Jack, this has almost eliminated all symptoms of my Ehler Danlos, and also helped me so much with my overall strength, endurance recovery during the karting weekends”

What is included?

🏋️ Whether your goal is to gain strength, lose or gain weight, or improve endurance, all training plans will be tailored and designed to power your own performance.

2. Race weekend strategy
🏁 A review of the current race weekend strategy will showcase key trends and therefore we can highlight target areas for improvement.
🏁 Energy levels will be optimised through nutrition tactics.

3. Nutrition advice
🍏 Nutrients are like fuel for your body, like fuel gives your kart speed, nutrients give your body energy.
🍏 Learn about energy balance and how to structure your nutrition towards your goals.

4. Performance review
🏎️ Physical assessments and nutrition diaries will track the driver’s progress.
🏎️ Goals will be set and measured throughout; it is important to celebrate success.

It’s time to meet JB….

JB, also known as Jack Bell, has been working in the fitness industry for over 10 years ago with a huge passion for sport performance and exercise science. 🏋️

My first few roles were based in gyms where my clients ranged from ordinary people to professional athletes such as football players, rugby players, team GB athletes and karting drivers. 🏁

I then joined Derby County FC and spent six years specialising in exercise rehabilitation, a highlight in this role was achieving employee of the year in 2018. 💪

In 2021, I joined Mercedes F1 team as their Head Performance Coach where I delivered a physical performance programme to the team behind the drivers. 🏎️

And now in my current roles, I work for Derbyshire FA and The Premier League, both positions that I really enjoy due to my passion for developing people and helping individuals reach their goals! ⚽️

With JB Driver Fitness, I want to use my skills, knowledge and experience in the motorsport and fitness world to help young drivers reach their peak performance!
