Could this work?
Night school for children could make a real difference for those who struggle with the traditional school day. Not every child’s life fits neatly into a nine‑to‑three routine. Some have responsibilities at home, some deal with anxiety or health issues, and others simply find daytime school overwhelming. When that happens, it’s easy for them to feel left behind or written off.
Offering lessons in the evening gives these children another way in. It says, we still want you here, and we’re willing to adapt. Learning at a different time can take some pressure off, making it easier for students to focus and feel comfortable again. For many, it could be the chance they need to rebuild confidence and reconnect with education.
Evening schools also tend to feel more personal. Smaller classes and a calmer atmosphere mean students can get the attention they need, not just academically but emotionally too. Feeling seen and supported can be just as important as passing exams.
At its heart, a night school recognises a simple truth: children don’t all learn in the same way or at the same time. Giving them another option isn’t lowering standards, it’s giving them a fair chance.

Working in various school systems reveals effective and ineffective educational practices. Collaborative environments often foster creativity and critical thinking, while student-centered approaches lead to better outcomes. However, rigid curriculums focused on standardised testing can stifle creativity and neglect diverse student needs.
In addressing antisemitism, schools must implement comprehensive educational programs that promote tolerance and understanding. This includes integrating lessons on Jewish history and culture into the curriculum, along with encouraging open discussions about prejudice and discrimination.
Schools with strong community involvement create supportive atmospheres that enhance motivation, while those lacking resources can hinder learning. The most effective systems adapt to student needs, embrace innovation, and promote inclusivity and support, fostering an environment that condemns antisemitism and celebrates diversity.

Challenges around chidren and young people.
I recently completed the CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Children and Young People's Mental Health course at Sunderland, and it has been an incredibly enriching experience. This course provided me with essential knowledge about the mental health challenges that children and adolescents face today. Throughout the program, I learned how to review and recognize early signs of mental health issues, which is crucial for providing timely support.
The curriculum focused on the emotional and psychological development of young people, equipping me with practical skills to create a nurturing and supportive environment. This course not only enhanced my understanding of mental health but also improved my ability to make a positive impact in my community. With this certification, I feel well-prepared for various opportunities in education, healthcare, and social services, and I am excited about continuing to contribute to the well-being of children and young people in my area. Overall, taking this course has been a significant step in my personal and professional growth, adding to my counselling and mentoring qualifications.
