Today at Forest School, the children made their own wire hanging decorations! ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿ”ฅ

First, the children carefully wrapped wire around pieces of cardboard to create their chosen shapes. They then worked together to lay and light a fire using a fire striker, developing their confidence and learning important fire safety skills.

Once the fire was established, the wire shapes were placed into the flames, allowing the cardboard to burn away and leave behind unique wire decorations.

The children showed great concentration and perseverance and were fascinated by the process. Look how amazing their finished decorations are! They were so proud of what they had created. I wonder where they will choose to hang their decorations at home? ๐ŸŒฟโœจ

Look how much our plants have grown! ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿฅ•๐Ÿฅฌ

The children have loved helping to care for our garden and watching the vegetables thrive.

Growing vegetables helps children to:
โ€ข Learn where food comes from
โ€ข Develop responsibility and patience
โ€ข Build fine motor skills
โ€ข Encourage healthy eating habits
โ€ข Explore nature and the world around them

We are so proud of their hard work and canโ€™t wait for harvest time! ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ˜Š

๐ŸŒŸ What a busy and exciting week weโ€™ve had! ๐ŸŒŸ

This week, we have been following the childrenโ€™s intents from home, which included strawberry picking, visits to Yorkshire Wildlife Park, and continuing to think about how we can use kind hands. ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฆ•๐Ÿ’›

To implement these, we created our very own strawberry farm for the children to explore through imaginative play. The children also enjoyed caring for babies in our baby bath station, developing their nurturing skills and understanding of kindness and self-care.๐Ÿ›๐Ÿซง

Our budding explorers got stuck into a fossil-finding tray, using their curiosity and investigation skills to discover hidden treasures. ๐Ÿฆ•๐Ÿ”

Also, the children made delicious vegetable skewers, helping to prepare their own healthy snack to take home, while developing fine motor skills and independence. ๐Ÿฅ’๐Ÿ…๐Ÿฅ•

Our babies have been busy taking part in a Bear Hunt nature trail, discovering the world around them through sights, sounds, and textures. Weโ€™ve also enjoyed getting to know our local community by exploring our surroundings and engaging in sensory play. ๐Ÿป๐ŸŒณ

The children have been having lots of fun investigating different colours through a variety of sensory and creative activities, helping them to develop their curiosity and understanding of the world around them.๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒˆ

The Forest School children have been learning about bees this week. ๐Ÿ๐ŸŒผ

Through a variety of hands-on activities, including bee-themed tie-dye, threading, and outdoor exploration, they discovered how bees help flowers and plants grow by moving pollen from one flower to another. These experiences supported our curriculum by developing fine motor skills, encouraging creativity, and fostering curiosity about the natural world while learning about the importance of caring for our environment. ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’–

The children have been so excited to harvest their radishes today! ๐ŸŒฑ

After weeks of watering, caring for, and watching them grow, they were thrilled to finally pull their bright red radishes from the soil. There were lots of smiles, surprises, and proud moments as they discovered what had been growing beneath the ground. ๐Ÿซœ๐ŸŒฑ
