Wow , what a start to the new school year! It has been lovely to greet all our children this morning.
( ...and the little cheer in the main playground when I rung the bell made me smile!)

We are looking for cable reels of any size to support our school and OPAL Play activities, as well as to use creatively in our classrooms.

If you have any clean, safe, unused or surplus cable reels that you could donate, we would be extremely grateful. They can be reused for seating, tables, play equipment, activities and classroom projects. ♻️🌟

🎉 Phoenix Infant School Carnival 🎉

Bouncy castle, music, face painting, tattoos, games, a sandpit, everyone dressed in their party clothes, plus hot dogs and ice poles... it can only mean one thing – Phoenix Carnival time! 🥳🌭🍦

We had such a great time and loved seeing everyone having so much fun. Thank you to everyone who helped make it such a fantastic event! ❤️

Today we held an OPAL family play session to keep our families up to date with all things OPAL and to share the fantastic progress and successes we have achieved so far.

Before the play session, our mentor, Wendy, led a really informative presentation, sharing the principles behind OPAL and the positive impact it is having on our children's play experiences. Thank you, Wendy, for your continued support and guidance.

It was then wonderful to see so many families joining us and, most importantly, to spend time watching our children play, explore and enjoy the amazing opportunities available to them.

Our aim is for every child to experience the very best play opportunities possible, and we will continue to build on our provision to make play even more exciting, creative and inclusive for all.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us through donations and contributions. Your generosity is helping us make a real difference to our children's play experiences. 💙

A huge thank you to Gedling Village Care Home for generously donating this piano for our OPAL play provision, and to LDE Removals for coming to our rescue and delivering it for us.

It's already proving to be a fantastic addition and a great success with the children! 🎹✨

What a truly inspirational day at Phoenix Infant School!

We were delighted to welcome Olympian bobsledder and sprinter Joel Fearon, who spent the day with our children. The children took part in a sponsored circuit challenge, showing fantastic enthusiasm, determination and energy throughout.

Joel also delivered an inspiring assembly, sharing his journey and encouraging everyone to **Be BRAVE** – a powerful message that we hope will stay with our children for a long time.

Ask your child all about their day and what they learned!

Our beautiful chicks ! Look how much they have grown!

“We started with 16 eggs on Monday, and today we have our first 4 chicks! 🐣

The children have been full of awe and wonder watching this amazing process unfold, excitedly checking on the eggs each day and learning about the life cycle firsthand. Over the next few days, the children will also have the opportunity to gently hold and observe the chicks, making this a truly memorable experience for them all.
