SEWING B IS 7!

Can you believe it? Seven years at 174 Derby Road!

Seven years ago today, we moved into 174 Derby Road. I remember it like yesterday: moving from William Road to Derby Road, getting the keys, and then the heavens opening as we walked down to 174, getting completely soaked! Despite the rain, it was a totally amazing day and the beginning of such a lovely journey.

What a wonderful seven years we’ve had!

We’re celebrating our seventh anniversary with a brilliant line-up of exciting sewing workshops and courses coming up.

There’s something for everyone, from dressmaking and pattern cutting to draping, tailoring, corset making, bra making, swimwear, shirt making and much more.

Whether you’re just starting out, wanting to improve your sewing skills or ready to take on something more challenging, there’s lots happening at Sewing B.

We’ve also got plenty more exciting workshops and new ideas coming your way over the next few months.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Sewing B over the last seven years and made sewing b such a lovely place to sew, learn and create.

WOW… WHAT A MONTH AUGUST HAS BEEN AT SEWING B!

We really have had the most amazing month!

August has been packed with fantastic courses and workshops, and we’ve loved seeing everyone take on new challenges and create some incredible garments.

We’ve had swimwear, tailored blazers, French-style jackets, shirt dresses and some absolutely gorgeous dresses made in the studio.

And then came our Corset Course — definitely the best course of the year so far!

What an amazing group and what incredible corsets you all made!

The studio has been full of sewing, laughter, chat and, of course, a little bit of Sewing B mischief…

💋 And who kissed Patrick in August?!

We’ve absolutely loved every minute of it.

Now it’s September and we’re so excited for autumn at Sewing B

Lots more exciting courses, new challenges and plenty of fabulous things to make.

Our Two-Day Draping & Pattern Making Course is coming up very soon — and we only have a couple of places remaining! 🧵

⏰ 10am – 4pm

Spend two inspiring days exploring the art of draping on the mannequin and creating your own patterns from your designs.

This is your chance to step away from simply following a pattern and start thinking like a designer — experimenting with shape, proportion, fit and creativity. ✨

Whether you have always wanted to try draping or you’re looking to develop your existing pattern-making skills, this is a fabulous opportunity to immerse yourself in two creative days at Sewing B.
