George Spencer Academy Sixth Formers recently visited Portland Spencer Academy to share, with the students, their journey of applying and getting accepted to study Medicine at Cambridge University 🙌

The Year 5 students completed some work beforehand on NHS careers and created some amazing posters celebrating and raising awareness of different roles in NHS. These were then judged by the Sixth Formers, and the winners received a full set of Roald Dahl books! The posters have now been entered into a national competition 💫

Director of Post 16, Susan Sharp, said: “It really was inspiring to see the Portland pupils get enthused by older members of our Spencer family – a truly One Spencer event”

Andy Haywood, Teaching Assistant at Rushcliffe Spencer Academy has been shortlisted for this year’s Tes Schools Awards, which celebrate the UK’s most inspiring teachers and schools from both the state and independent sectors, following a record-breaking number of nominations 🙌
