Today Year 6 started their 'Commando Joe' learning where they take part in weekly team building activities linked to an inspirational person to build resilience, communication, problem solving and collaborative skills.

This term our focus is on Nancy Wake, an incredibly brave and heroic World War 2 spy. The children had to protect their 'secrets' at their base whilst also trying to infiltrate other bases and stealing their secrets! They worked together well and developed some very interesting strategies!

What a fantastic way to end the term!
Our children had an amazing day stepping back in time and experiencing life as Vikings. They enjoyed making bread in a Viking longhouse, taking part in a Viking game and had the opportunity to make their own pottery. However, the highlight of the trip was definitely becoming the guards of our Viking village! ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ The children worked together to defend the village using shields and spears, showing fantastic teamwork, enthusiasm and of course bravery.

The day finished with an exciting Viking battle as our settlement came under attack!
The children showed amazing behaviour throughout the day. The Viking leaders were full of praise for how well behaved, knowledgable and enthusiastic they were and we couldnโ€™t agree more. They also commented on how enjoyable the day had been for them too, saying it was a great way to end the term for them.

Great trip. Well done Year 3/4

It was time for Year 6's end of year leaver's service this afternoon at Underwood St Michael and All Angels Church and what a performance it was! The Year 6's should feel very proud of themselves for their confident and professional delivery and for the outstanding year that they have had. They are all absolute superstars and we wish them the very best as they begin their next chapter.

Last Friday, a very special visitor came to Chestnut Class. Mr Millership is a suba diver who travels around the world to explore under the sea and meet lots of exciting sea creatures. The Chestnuts were amazed listening to his stories and the photos that he showed them. It was very exciting at the end of the session because Mr Millership let the children look at and try on some of his equipment. A fantastic experience! ๐ŸŒŠ ๐Ÿ  ๐Ÿฆญ ๐Ÿคฟ ๐Ÿ™
