Our mystery books are all wrapped up and waiting for you on the school book swap this morning 📚📚

We have had an amazing assembly and workshop morning with Tommy Francis from
Rocksteady Music. Your child will be bringing home a letter with further information about how they can sign up to learn to play an electric guitar, bass, drums, keyboard or be the lead singer in a rock or pop school band. Once enrolled, they’ll have weekly lessons, work towards their Trinity college accreditation and perform in termly concerts. 👩🏼‍🎤🧑🏾‍🎤

We are delighted to share that our school has earned the this year. This is a testament to the wonderful social action work that our Rivendellians have put in this year to make a positive impact on our local community and wider world. We are thrilled to have earned this recognition and are looking forward to having even more social impact next year!

Summer reading challenge ⭐️

Enterprise week was a roaring success in KS2 and across the whole school. 💷 💼
This week the children in KS2 have learnt about what it means to be enterprising, manage money, profit and loss, USPs and how to conduct market research.
They even created their own Dragons Den style pitches in Year 5/6.
We definitely have some future Rivendellian entrepreneurs!

🌟 Enterprise Week Success in Key Stage 1! 🌟
We’ve had a fantastic Enterprise Week in KS1, and we’re so proud of all the children’s hard work and creativity!
🧵 Year 2 have been busy making Emergency Contact Keyrings — a practical and thoughtful idea that was a big hit!
🎨 Year 1 created Zones of Regulation Keyrings to help children recognise and manage their emotions — a lovely mix of learning and creativity!
Both classes showed amazing teamwork and entrepreneurial spirit, and we’re excited to share that they’ve raised money from their projects! 💰👏
Next week, the children will take part in a vote to decide how we spend the money — a great way to involve them in decision-making and celebrate their efforts.
Well done, Year 1 and Year 2 — you’ve truly impressed us all! 💙✨

🎉✨ We are so proud of Habo in Year 2 for winning the STAEDTLER Colouring Competition! 🖍️🎨
He did an amazing job with his colourful and creative artwork, and his hard work has paid off! As a prize, he received a fantastic set of STAEDTLER colouring supplies – perfect for more brilliant creations! 🏆🖌️

Last week we held our very first Careers Week here at Rivendell and what a brilliant, inspiring week it was!
From our youngest Rivendellians in EYFS to our ambitious Year 6 children, the whole school was buzzing with excitement.
Nursery and Reception welcomed a gardener, nurse and librarian whilst also exploring the roles of people in our community through post office, doctors surgery and library provision areas.

Key Stage 1 began the week with a pastry chef, who even brought them some delicious treats to taste! They enjoyed a wonderful zoom
call with a BBC journalist live from the studio. Both classes were inspired by a draw along with an author and a visit from a musician that got our creativity flowing! Year 2 baked up a storm with our amazing school chef, Claire, and Year 1 welcomed a local farmer who bought his tractor - a big hit with all!

Key Stage 2 were inspired by visitors from the world of game design, architecture, a F1 electrical engineer with Redbull team and a climate scientist live from Oslo! A highlight for our aspiring footballers was a visit from an FA referee who shared some alternative careers in the game!
Thursday’s dress up day brought the school alive with pilots, vets, dancers, architects, teachers, doctors and even few spidermen and princesses too! Year 5/6 worked hard all morning to map out the path to their dream jobs learning about qualifications and next steps.

We are already looking forward to building on the success of Careers Week next year by gathering pupil voice to learn how we can make it even bigger and better!
