It’s been quite a start to the year for our CEO Yvette. Not only has she marked a ‘big’ birthday (we won’t say which one!) with an extended holiday in Brazil, she was also recently delighted to be told that she has been invited along with Kay, (our Head of Quality and Safeguarding) to attend the Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace this summer.
The invitation followed a nomination from the Department for Education in recognition of her contribution to education. It’s a lovely acknowledgement of the work Yvette has put into shaping the sector over many years, and one that reflects the wider impact of the work across the organisation.
Well done Yvette and Kay!

✅Taking breaks doesn't mean you're falling behind
✅Your mental health is more important than productivity
This Mental Health Awareness week, be kind to your mind.

Apprenticeships are not only for new starters.
Many early years settings use them to develop experienced staff, build individual confidence in practice, and create consistency across the team, without taking people off the nursery floor.
They offer a practical way to grow skills while staff continue doing the job they care about.
In the blog, we explain why more settings are using apprenticeships as a long-term development tool, not a quick fix.

What would change in your setting if your staff felt more confident?
More initiative in rooms, because staff trust their own judgement.
Fewer mixed messages, because behaviour, routines, and expectations are handled in the same way.
More consistency for children and families, because practice does not depend on who is on shift.
Upskilling is not about fixing people. It’s about backing them.
Here’s why strong early years settings invest in development for the long-term.
