A day we'll never forget...

This morning, our learners spent time at New Life Orphanage sharing games, singing, dancing and laughter with the children and the afternoon, we visited an ethical elephant sanctuary.

A day full of compassion, learning, cultural understanding and experiences that will stay with us long after we return home.

Another unforgettable day of learning in Thailand!

From exploring the fascinating Death Railway Market and learning how coconuts are transformed into sugar, syrup and handcrafted products, to travelling by boat through floating markets and meeting some very friendly goats, our journey to Kanchanaburi was packed with new experiences. We encountered a variety of animals, both domestic and wild along the way.

The day also sparked thoughtful discussions about sustainability, local communities and responsible tourism, showing that learning can happen everywhere.

Our Turing Scheme adventure in Thailand is underway!

After arriving safely in Bangkok, our learners enjoyed a stunning riverside dinner, sampling authentic Thai cuisine as the sun set over the city.

Our first full day included visits to some of Bangkok's most spectacular temples, including the famous Reclining Buddha, and we were fortunate to witness celebrations marking the King's birthday, including performances from local children.

Our learners spent their last day supporting children with outdoor physical challenges that developed balance, coordination, problem-solving and teamwork skills.

Today we spent time with the older children in the school where we were greeted with musical welcoming session and joined in with drumming. We then took part in a Quran Mass Hafazan Session where we supported the children to make their own elephants, helping with learning about its significance as a symbol in Islam.​

We all enjoyed taking part in a music class, learning to play a traditional Asian instrument called ‘Angklung’ with the children we managed to play a recognisable tune! ​

Learning through play, curiosity and creativity!​

This week our learners have begun their placement at Little Caliphs Excellent Centre and Integrated Islamic School of Shah Alam, supporting children in literacy activities, song time and hands-on learning experiences.​

After being challenged to create an activity that encouraged exploration and curiosity, our learners helped set up a play dough-making station inspired by Reggio Emilia principles. The children loved experimenting with textures, mixing colours and learning through play!​

Building global skills, sharing ideas and gaining valuable international experience.​

Weekend adventures with a global perspective!​

After a rewarding first week of placements, our learners enjoyed a cultural weekend exploring Malaysia and Singapore. From completing a 5K Park Run in the Malaysian heat and climbing the 272 steps of Batu Caves, to making new friends from India and experiencing the spectacular Gardens by the Bay light show in Singapore, it was a weekend full of learning, friendship and unforgettable memories.​
