Sir David Attenborough celebrates his one hundredth birthday today. His career, spanning seven decades, has been transformative in the world of conservation and wildlife film-making. He continues to inspire current and future generations to take care of the natural world around them, a message that he highlighted this year in his most recent documentaries, Wild London and Secret Garden.

Love teaching about shape!
We made a poster, whilst talking about shapes and their properties and ways to remember these.

Common trickiest shapes: trapezium, parallellogram, scalene triangle, heptagon, decagon and the isoceles triangle.
Excellent knowledge recall in a quiz at the end alongside a game of his choice. 🥰

Final session with my Year 6 boy, who I have supported for 3.5 years! I still have the pleasure of supporting his sister, who is excited to have a longer session!

Always feel sad when students move on but I know he is ready 🙂

Talk about leaving it late...so proud of her though, I said we should do this for a subject she's struggling in, in Year 7.

I have a very rare 45-minute tuition slot on a Wednesday straight from school. DM if your child could do with some support with their education and confidence.

Me - how can I keep this reading session engaging and encourage more independence and resilience with a challenging reading comprehension?

Into my stock of games I go.... Genius Square it will be!

Great for a quick 5-minute game that still requires thinking, resilience and forward thinking.

So how will Iink it to the reading?

Answer a question independently - earn 2 blocks, with support, earn 1.
The quicker the blocks are earned, the quicker we can 'play'.

Keeping sessions fun, engaging and learning even when they don't realise it!

What started with 'Oh no I can't do this' resulted in my year 6 child getting 14/14 arithmetic questions correct...so proud!!

All through games, modelling, shared working to give confidence.

Sessions like this make me love what I do even more...it is the most rewarding job to see children achieving and clapping for themselves.

We worked on naming and describing different triangles, measuring angles and naming types of angles along with learning some facts about circles using their posters for reference🙂

The children have taken their posters home so be ready to be quizzed!
