🎉NEW SESSIONS for Autumn for Home Education families.

First up is our NEW Tree Dressing session at Bestwood Country Park!

This Friday - 4th September 2026

🍃Join Notts Outdoors at Bestwood Environmental Outdoor Centre, for a brand-new session – Tree Dressing! Learn about the ancient customs of tree dressing, try out your tree identification skills and learn about the importance of different tree species.

🍃We will also create our own decorations to hang on the trees in celebration. We would love to hang some of your decorations on our tree in St Mary’s Church, Edwinstowe during their Christmas Tree Festival in December.

What a difference a few weeks can make!

📸 Our classroom refresh at Bestwood Environmental Education Centre is really starting to take shape, and we can't wait to welcome schools and groups back through the doors.

There's still more to come before the big reveal, but we're thrilled with the progress so far and can't wait to share the finished result with you.

Mural update at Perlethorpe Environmental Education Centre! 🎨🦌

The transformation is underway!

Our new classroom mural is starting to come to life, and we're excited to share this latest progress update with you. Inspired by the natural beauty and wildlife of Sherwood Forest, the design is already making a striking impression.

This stunning stag, framed by vibrant woodland colours and stained-glass-inspired details, is beginning to take centre stage and is a fantastic example of the creativity and skill going into the project.

A huge thank you to Keith for all the hard work behind the scenes. From preparing the wall to bringing the new artwork to life, it's wonderful to see the vision taking shape.

There's still more to come, and we can't wait to reveal the finished mural once all the final touches have been added.

🎨✨ The classroom is getting a fresh new look!

Schools may be out for summer, but there's no holiday for improvements across our centres. Visitors will recognise the much-loved wildlife wall at Perlethorpe Environmental Education Centre.

Keith has been busy transforming the space, preparing the wall for an exciting new design. We can't wait to see the finished result and share the journey with you.

🌞 Schools may be out for summer, but the work doesn't stop at our centres! 🎨

Visitors to Perlethorpe Environmental Education Centre will recognise this mural in one of our classrooms. Featuring local wildlife and scenes, it has been a familiar sight for many years.

Now it's time for a refresh! Keith has been hard at work carefully preparing the wall, making way for an exciting new design that will bring a fresh look to the space while continuing to inspire all our visitors.

We're really excited to see the transformation take shape and can't wait to share the finished result with you.
