Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back everyone, it's been lovely to see the children back in school and looking so smart in their uniform. I hope you've all had a good summer, it's been heart warming to hear the children talking so positively about their Summer holidays.

The launch of our new dinner menu seems to have been well received and food waste is down. The children have loved the new way we are doing things- they all sit together now.

Just one small reminder, if you drive to school for drop off/pick up please be mindful of our neighbours and park sensibly and respectfully so as not to block drives or walkways etc.

We look forward to an exciting September.

Price of a school meal reduced:

We have changed catering suppliers, and after review, the cost of a school meal has been reduced to £2.80. Along with this, there is more choice each day. Children can now choose between:

main meal
vegetarian option (even if they are not vegetarian)
jacket potato
tomato pasta
They are also able to now sit together with children having packed lunch, whereas they used to be eat separately.

Increased eligibility to free school meals:

The eligibility criteria for free school meals has changed and more people are now entitled. Please see the attached poster for more information.

Dear Parents and Carers,

We have made it to the end of term! It's been fantastic and we have managed to fit so much in. Highlights for me this term have included the Colour Run, Year 6 Play- Grossbusters, Diversity week and Sports Day. It has been so good to see you all at all the different events.

It has been an emotional week, as our Year 6's prepare to take their next steps on to their secondary schools. They have been such good fun, and we are going to miss them loads.

The other reason we have been sad this week is the news that Mr Phillips-Alexander's is leaving us to continue his teaching career in the City. I just want to say a massive thank you to him on behalf of all of us - we are really going to miss him.

On another sad note, we have also said farewell to our Midday Supervisors. As a school we have moved over to a new lunchtime system. The children will now be cared for by our Teachers and TAs at lunchtimes, OPAL time will continue, but children will also be able to eat together with their friends. We won't be separating packed lunches and hot meals- everyone in each phase will eat together in waves. We all want to wish the Middays good luck and thank them for their help over the years.

And finally... on a more positive note I want to thank you all for working so closely with us. The children have had some amazing opportunities this year, because of your support and the commitment of our staff team. Arnold Mill has been a lovely place to be this year- so thank you for helping us make it so brilliant!
