We’ve still got a few places left on our free Summer Theatre School for Secondary Aged Pupils across Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire- Nottinghamshire Creates

Nottinghamshire Creates is a Summer Theatre School for students aged 11-16, through which we will create a Play in a Week! W e will work together to present a piece of theatre in just 5 days. We're planning on performing a version of the play 'Brainstorm'. Originally performed by Company Three, this production is a unique theatrical investigation into how teenagers' brains work, and why they're designed by evolution to be the way they are.

Delivered by our team of experienced, multi-disciplined practitioners, actors and Drama School graduates, we will explore drama, storytelling, physical theatre and ensemble building to develop skills as a performer and as a theatre maker ourselves.

The city-based sessions will be delivered at Nonsuch Studios, Nottingham's independent theatre and creative space whilst the county wide delivery will take place in Sutton-in-Ashfield at Sutton Community Academy and in Newark/New Ollerton at the Dukeries Academy. The week will end with a public showcase in each venue's dedicated theatre space, where friends, family, teachers and peers will be invited to come and watch what we've created throughout the week.

Lunch will be provided during the sessions along with a morning and afternoon snack. This scheme is suitable for all abilities and will be delivered to pupils aged 11-16. This will be a part of the DfE's UK wide Holiday Activity Fund programme and prioritises children in receipt of/who are eligible for benefits related Free School Meals.
