Building with earth.

In a world that is becoming increasingly virtual, MUD UP creates the opportunity to literally reconnect with the earth and explore natural, eco friendly building techniques.

I have come on a MUD UP mission, all the way down to Devon for another dollop of natural building experience under the guidance of my cob guru and all-round earthy hero, Kate Edwards. 🙌🏼

Natural building is the ultimate soul nourishment. I haven’t even donned my marigolds yet (we start tomorrow) and I’m already feeling fantastic thanks to that gorgeous sea air and excited anticipation!

I can’t wait to to share the joys of building with earth with my Nottingham/Leicestershire/Derbyshire buddies this summer.
If you want a piece of the mud pie, make sure you are following across all social media.

This type of wall organisation brings back the nostalgia of those super cool pencil cases with little snug compartments for rubbers and pencil sharpeners 😍
Oh the possibilities when building with earth!

Cob is infinitely recyclable.
When building with cob, ideally most of the materials needed would be present naturally on the site.
It’s something to to think about given the construction industry accounts for 38% of CO2 emissions.

There is something magical about cob. From the hands-on, building process to the finished building, it’s beautiful!
