Interesting UK electrical fact:

In the UK, the standard mains supply is 230V at 50Hz. That is why most UK sockets are rated at 13A.

Quick bit of maths: 230V x 13A = 2,990W (about 3kW) from a single socket.

That is plenty for kettles and heaters, but it is also why good cable sizing, protective devices, and safe isolation matter.

If you are retraining or upskilling in electrical, learning the real-world practical side (testing, fault-finding, safe working) makes all the difference.
