Last week saw us bring our final week of Summer Activate to a close, completing an incredible three-week programme filled with creativity, adventure, challenges and fun!

During Week 3, the children enjoyed the theme of 'time travel' - from dinosaurs, Ancient Egyptians, Vikings and Knights in Rome, to inventors, astronauts and futuristic adventures. Along the way, they took part in themed crafts, creative challenges, sports, group activities and so much more, with plenty to capture everyone’s imagination! 🚀🦖⚔️

It has been fantastic to see new friendships develop, confidence grow and children throw themselves into every activity with such enthusiasm. The final week was no exception, with plenty of laughter, teamwork, creativity and unforgettable moments.

A huge thank you to every child who joined us and made Activate 2026 so special, and to our amazing staff team for all their hard work, energy and enthusiasm throughout the three weeks. You have all helped make Activate the fun and memorable experience that it has been! 💙

Before you know it, Week 2 of Activate has flown by in a flash! 🦸‍♂️🦹‍♀️ It’s been a super week packed with heroic adventures and villainous fun!

Our superheroes-in-training have completed epic missions including 🍪 baking, 🎯 laser tag, 🏊 swimming, 🎨 crafts and 🌳 den building. We also saw some super costumes take centre stage during our famous fancy dress parade, before finishing the week with splash-tastic water fights 💦

But the adventure doesn’t stop there… ⏳✨ Next week we're jumping into the world of Time Travel! Get ready to journey through the past, zoom into the future and make memories that will stand the test of time. Trust us… you won't want to miss a second! 🚀⏰

🌍✨ Activate 2026 is off to a fantastic start! ☀️

The first few days of this summer's Activate holiday camp have been filled with smiles, laughter and plenty of adventure. It has been wonderful to welcome both familiar and new faces as we've begun our summer of fun together.

This week's 'Around the World' theme has inspired a fantastic variety of activities. Our Pre Prep children have enjoyed decorating flag biscuits, creating colourful Chinese lanterns, learning circus skills, building dens, making Mexican vegetable pinwheels and crafting animals and famous landmarks from clay. They've also made the most of the sunshine with outdoor games, bikes and trikes, football, tennis and swimming.

Meanwhile, our Prep children have embraced every challenge, from laser tag, climbing and swimming to quick cricket, Swedish long ball, dream catcher making, boat building and designing famous landmarks from around the world.

One of the highlights so far has been the return of our much-loved Activate Dressing-Up Parade, where the sports hall was filled with a wonderful array of colourful costumes, creativity and smiling faces. It was a lovely opportunity to bring all of our Pre Prep and Prep children together to celebrate the theme.

It's been a brilliant start to Activate 2026, and with lots more exciting activities, adventures and themed weeks still to come over the summer holidays, there's so much to look forward to.

We were delighted to welcome acclaimed novelist Emma Healey for this year's Prize Day, where she delivered a truly inspiring address linked to the National Year of Reading.

Emma shared fascinating & amusing insights into the life of a writer, speaking honestly about creativity, perseverance, courage & the importance of embracing every experience as potential inspiration, even those moments spent on the toilet! She reminded our pupils that stories help us understand ourselves & others, building empathy & giving meaning to the moments that shape our lives.

Our sincere thanks to Emma for joining us & for such an engaging, thoughtful & memorable address. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the achievements of our pupils & to inspire them for the chapters ahead 📚✨
