🌻Some of our KS5 students have been very fortunate to gain a weekly opportunity at Assist Gardens. Each visit will involve taking part in a range of practical tasks to develop gardening skills and confidence in an outdoor learning environment. Students will learn directly from Assist staff and Assist members, gaining real experience from people who use the site every day.

This placement also gives students the chance to meet new people, build social confidence and practise safe, independent public‑transport skills as part of their weekly routine.🚌

Today was our first visit and we had a great time exploring the beautiful setting and finding out about the tasks we will be undertaking.🌾

Another fabulous week of Summer Activity Days! ☀️

🦜Our students have had an amazing time meeting Darwin the parrot, a tortoise, millipedes and lots of other incredible creatures. We enjoyed an animal safari, park visits in the sunshine, cooking, rebound, dancing, crafts, games, and lots of fun in the hall with a variety of different equipment. Most importantly, we’ve enjoyed spending time together with our friends.

A huge thank you to our absolutely awesome staff for making every day so special and supporting our students to have so much fun — and, of course, to our fabulous students for being the very best! 🌟

What a fab first week of the summer scheme! ☀️ We’ve had lots of fun in the local community, enjoyed sports in the hall, had a fantastic time at Rebound, explored exciting science experiences, and got creative with cooking and crafts.

A huge thank you to Lauren from No Limits for some fantastic sessions! But best of all, we’ve loved spending time with our friends and making some wonderful memories together. 💙

💙 For the 5th year in a row, we have been awarded the Eco Shools Green Flag Award with distinction!

Our brilliant pupil Eco Committee work tirelessly to encourage us all to think about our environment, sustainability and biodiversity 🍃

The feedback from our entry praised our work on reducing plastic in school; recycling more; growing potatoes and our loan-a-lamb project. It also praised the growing independence of our pupils who form part of our Eco Committee 💙

🎉On 10th July, Soul Church Norwich once again welcomed us to celebrate our amazing leavers at a special prom alongside the leavers from Harford Manor School and Hall School.

Our students had an amazing time, and it was a perfect way to mark the end of their school journey.

🌞Form KH had a fantastic day with the Nancy Oldfield Trust on 16th July. Some of the class enjoyed cruising along the beautiful Norfolk Broads on the motor cruiser, while others took to the water in sailing boats. Some had the opportunity to help steer and sail, making it a fun and memorable experience for all. The day was filled with beautiful weather, friends, and lots of smiles.😀

Form AG have worked incredibly hard this year, preparing Monday lunches for our school staff.🍽 Every week, they have washed, peeled, chopped🔪, grated, mixed, fried and baked a wide range of vegetables 🥒🧅🧄🍅🥔🫑🥬to create delicious jacket potatoes, fresh salads, chilli and rice, and garlic bread for 20 very grateful adults! 🥗🍚

Throughout the year, they have developed and refined their food preparation skills, worked brilliantly as a team, and taken great pride in serving others. Keeping a hungry crew happy every Monday is no small feat—what a fantastic achievement! 😋

Green fingers have been busy at The Clare School this year! 💚👩‍🌾👨‍🌾

From seed sowing 🌱and potting 🪴 on to weeding, watering 💧 and harvesting, our pupils have worked hard to produce a fantastic bounty of herbs and vegetables.

This year's harvest has included potatoes🥔, cucumbers🥒, strawberries🍓, onions🧅, garlic🧄, rhubarb and sage 🌿, all of which have been happily taste-tested and enjoyed by the students. 😋

When we return, we hope the pumpkins, aubergines 🍆 and chillies 🌶 will be ready for harvesting, while our Holiday Club will be able to enjoy delicious homegrown tomatoes 🍅 throughout August!☀️
