At Jesse Baker Drumming, it is my aim to provide drum tuition in a fun, relaxed environment where students of all ages and abilities can learn to express themselves. Teaching out of my brand new Arts Council England funded teaching and rehearsal space in Norwich, it is my aim to inspire students to not only learn the instrument: but to learn the art of performance. Having garnered over 10 years experience as a performer, including tours across Europe and playing on a multitude of records, it has always been my aim to inspire my students to go on to find their own voices, collaborate with other musicians, and experience the full spectrum of what music has to offer. Using the Rockschool Grade Syllabus as a foundation, I am committed to teaching students a combination of theory and performance skills across a range of different styles, and have had success with students rising from complete beginners all the way through to achieving Distinction at Grade 8. Alongside this, I also offer alternative teaching methods, such as learning songs from your favourite artists, jam sessions, band sessions, or even learning how to record and produce your own professional demos. Being lucky enough to teach in a fully functioning professional rehearsal space, the possibilities are endless, and I am fully committed to teaching each student based on how they learn best.
