There are about 7,000 languages spoken around the world- and they all have different sounds, vocabularies and structures. But do they shape the way we think?
Cognitive scientist Lera Boroditsky shares examples of language from an Aboriginal community in Australia that uses cardinal directions instead of left and right to the multiple words for blue in Russian that suggest the answer is a resounding yes.
"The beauty of linguistic diversity is that it reveals to us just how ingenious and how flexible the human mind is," Boroditsky says. "Human minds have invented not one cognitive universe, but 7,000."

Why Greek?
Greek is one of the official languages of the EU and is spoken by about 11 million people in Greece, Cyprus, and in various communities throughout the world. 🌍
By the end of the course, you will be able to deal with a variety of basic tasks such as ordering food, socialising, and shopping.
You will be able to read and write using the Greek alphabet! 🇬🇷

To Σάββατο, 7 Μαρτίου 2026 το University of East Anglia (UEA) και το The Forum, Norwich διοργανώνουν μια μεγάλη γιορτή με τίτλο 'Love Languages Day 2026'!

Let me say that there is a Greek version of this show! Yes! Excited?
It's called 'Προδότες' and has a slightly... smaller budget, but it is worth to binge this for a while just for fun and learning purposes, of course!
